Nah, Terry generally does better against better opponents. He's generally controlled the fight, shame he hasn't controlled his discipline and allowed Derry two cheap rounds.
More crisp southpaw 1-2 counters by Flanagan. Matthews just can't get a dig in without paying dearly for it. Flanagan dominating in the eleventh but not pressing for a finish, staying in 1st gear while Matthews sputters and burrows his own grave either haphazardly encroaching with lunging and easily-countered shots, or backing up clumsily on leaden, heavy legs in straight lines where Flanagan can snipe him off.
It seems all Matthews can do to keep his knees slightly bent (albeit rickety) and his arms up (but loosely assembled, easily knocked aside by even a single light right jab by Flanagan). To his credit, Matthews is gamely trying for sweeping body punches in combination, but getting cracked about the ear with right hooks as he dives in to do so. 10th/11th/12th all 10-9 Flanagan.
He just did. He beat Dirty (or I assume he will) who has beaten World Champion Million Dollar Crolla. :deal
don't mean to sound negative against a fellow Brit but if terry is one of the best lightweights in the world it shows the lack of quality in the division
I did, and even then - he was green and got demolished but it was more down to Choi just being on point and too much for him to handle in that big a step up that quickly. This version is just worn ragged. ...and Christ, was that really over eight years ago?
