So, Johnson won IBF eliminator today and now is a mando to GGG. Did he impress you today? Will he be able to put a decent fight against Golovkin? Will u be interested to see it as a non-PPV fight on HBO? Johnson is a big puncher and looked great against Curtis Stevens.
Most likely...Hes not fighting anyone with a pulse.. Why do you think they showcased Johnson tonite? A future GGG opponent, plain and simple..
He looked woeful last night. That **** O'kane was walking him down and battering him for half the fight last night. Just imagine what GGG would do to him.
Most likely......he was on the undercard....ggg fans will say "makes alot of sense.....he was on the undercard of the ggg mega ppv event so people know him now"
I hope not next as I hope it's the winner of one of the other 3 upcoming big fights But if he can squeeze it in as a tune up between negotiations that's ok too
I highly doubt if csnelo wins he'll come right back with ggg if he even fights him....so ya...ggg will have to prob get a defense in while waiting ...both guys prob would ......I can see him not getting that fight at all though
Well I was saying the lee fight winner or Quillin winner I hope any of those are next But I imagine the fight would take a while and GGG may wanna fight a guy like Johnson to stay busy
Johnson impressed me, very good well rounded fighter. O'kane very gutsy, not sure if many fighters would take the beating he took. Not a real threat to Ggg, but not a fighter to be overlooked. Other than Ggg, I can see Johnson beating anyone else. Dangerous southpaw like Lara, but better Imo cuz Johnson knows how to fight well on the inside, something Lara was never good at. Hopefully gets a rematch with Stevens in the future, set the record straight. Only thing made me laugh was how he was mean muggin O'kane, Johnson thought he was Clubber Lang. Ok with me, as long as he can fight and it looks like he can.
He is a pretty decent fighter with moderate firepower, but he cant hold a candle to GGG and shouldnt get a shot at his title within the next 2 years. There are better opponents out there for GGG.
GGG didn't win the vacant belt. He won it from the champ so he doesn't have to defend it for a full year. So Johnson doesn't "have to be" next.
If GGG wants to stay busy it makes sense. Even if the Cotto-Canelo winner does agree to face him, I can't see that happening until May at the earliest, so going 6 or 7 months without fighting is uncharacteristic. Getting Johnson out of the way in Feb would fulfill his mandatory obligations for the rest 2016.
Ggg vs eubank jr.....ppv......makes sense for ggg. ...2nd ppv in a row...uk following. .....IF eubank gets past spike
