Hamburg, Germany: Turki Alalshikh, named WBC's man of the year, addressed the audience and urged Wladimir Klitschko, the former heavyweight champion, to come out of retirement to consider a fight with either the winner of the Oleksandr Usyk-Tyson Fury bout on December 21, or the February 22 contest between IBF titleholder Daniel Dubois and Joseph Parker. The direct implication of an affirmative reaction from Klitschko would be an attempt to become the oldest world champion, breaking the 1994 record of George Foreman. Would you be looking forward for such a fight?
If Wlad has a tune up then beats a top 6-15 then why not these two have beaten the rest of the crop. Parker is the only other guy who deserves a shot and he's fighting the champ DDD now. If Wlad just jumps in I don't really understand why he would think that gives him a chance. He lost to AJ in a classic a long time ago and these two proved they're a different level than that. The way Fury fights these days he'd be looking to bring some serious firepower, Wlad hits hard still I'm sure but Fury is battle tested ever since Wlad retired. Foreman as everyone knows had years of building himself up to be able to beat a champion the calibre of Moorer.
Not keen on someone almost 50 coming back to such a brutal sport but if Wladimir has a tune up against a capable opponent and wins - possibly against Wilder, Chisora, Joyce then he might have a point - and these are all still incredibly tall orders for Wladimir ATM.
