I'm fine with runners as long as they are matched tough enough. No one needs haney vs ramirez. Make haney vs tank davis.

Actually also a nice idea: haney vs shakur. Might be nice because it wouldn't be easy for either of them to technically dominate the other. So at least boxing purists can benefit from the fight.

But don't let the runners fight easy touches. Give them 50-50 fights and let them earn their reputation. Technical brilliance will shine under pressure.

Mayweathers fights with maidana were pure entertainment for example!

I don't think they have to make rules for this. Just matchmake.

Sign Agit Kabayel? Absolutely. Sign Bam Rodriguez? Absolutely. Sign Shakur Stevenson? Nope. Just sign fighters based on their body of work.

That plan is already in place. Idea is to have a Ring belt, have it be THE belt that matters the most. It's coming.

Turki was watching that entire event thinking "I paid money for this?!"

This is dumb banning certain styles because he says theyre running and boring. I guess Willie Pep would be banned by him since he famously won a round without landing a punch. Horrible idea!

They are fronting the bill and needs a product that sells. I see no problem with this.

Fatal fury stunk. They spent a lot of money on it and it probably lost future viewers. It was one of the worst PPV I have ever seen. Boxers who were terrified to engage. They are now just going to make fight people want to see.

It's his show he is the one paying the purses. You are a business man you understand that he will lose money if his product is not popular.

I'm not a fan of Turki, but what Haney (and to a lesser extent Garcia) did in that NYC card ranks amongst the heists of the century; they knew it would be a slap in the face to the fans and make Turki look like a fool, and proceeded to do it anyway. It's the boxing equivalent of paying thousands for a high class escort, only to receive a disinterested handy in return.

The point is... Is he banning it, or just refusing to pay for it?

If he's trying to produce a product that sells (aka a card that entertains) then it's understandable why he might well favour fighters people like to watch... And rightly or wrongly, runners don't entertain (unless they get knocked out).

The other question is - what next?
And will that increase or decrease the popularity of his shows?

I'm not a big fan of runners, but they're fighting within the rules and if it weren't effective they wouldn't do it... I find it hard to support excluding them, but then would I nip out for a **** or to put a pizza in the oven during that part of the card rather than watch it? Quite possibly.

Now if he wants to put in financial penalties for initiating cuddles or throwing low blows and/or rabbit punches? I'm fine with all of that...

Boxing has many different styles it's the clash of styles that makes the sport what it is. If he doesn't understand that then maybe he shouldn't have gotten into the sport.
