how do tv contracts work ? like pbf once signed a 6 fight $15 million contract with hbo. but is that all he was able to earn during those 6 fights regardless of who he was fighting or how big the fight was ? did he hav a right to negotiate for ticket money or over sea tv rights ?

    thanks in advance

Unless I'm wrong that was pretty much the basic contractual agreement, of course that doesn't discuss things like live gate, bonuses, PPV revenue. All of which would probably differ from contract to contract.

so if thats the deal then hbo would hav to be his promoter only they know how much money there gonna splash out on a certain fight so its up to them to make his potencial opponents offers. who else can negotiate a deal when they dont know excactly wat they can offer ?

No, Basically HBO just bought exclusive rights to his fights. Obviously they have a certain amount of say in terms of who he fights but all the contract means is that his fights will be on HBO for a certain amount of money. The only difference is that with PPVs they may negotiate for a cut for him. Again that's more finicky sort of contract details we're not privvy too.

Usually, the amount of sports contracts are advertised at maximum value. They take bonusesinto account along with the guaranteed amount. PBF was probably guaranteed the majority of the fifteen mil, and the rest dependent on sales and ratings.
