10pm local time in Panama so there should be at least a couple more undercard matches before Matellón vs. Andrade, you'd figure...

Weird they would have the other half of the WBA minor trinket doubleheader pushed so far down the bill, though.

Alright, the commentators are vacating the ring and there's a referee in there ...good sign we might be moving along with some more action soon..

These WBA shows have weird bout orders sometimes though. I remember there was one a few months ago that opened with a 12 round WBA regional title fight and then they showed the rest of the card

Really stoked we get to see my boy Científico Núñez in action...even if just against some 39 year old Colombian with a losing record. :goofy:

    Round 1

Núñez is charging in, looming over Pacheco, rolling a jab over his nape as Pacheco tucks his chin and keeps his upper vertebrae arched so that his face is an unavailable target. Pacheco trying in vain to dive in and grab Núñez around the waist, scared off from each sortie by a series of plunging jabs. Pacheco tries flurrying in close now, and Núñez lines him up with a perfect check hook, dropping him in a heap. Pacheco gets up and redoubles his efforts to dive in and clinch, throwing a shoeshine as window-dressing on the way in, but Núñez rips another powerful hook into his face after drubbing his chest with a pair of uppercuts, and Pacheco is lying in the lateral decubitus position, no intentions of getting up again.

    KO1!!!

This was best case scenario with an opponent like this, he took care of business, can't really ask more of him.

Looked sharp but I’m not sure how his opponent has ever won 22 bouts. It was legitimately like something out of a super hero cartoon every time Nunez landed and his opponent went flying

This is Científico's fifth appearance in this venue (the Fantastic Casino de Albrook Mall), and is now a perfect 5-0 there, with three knockouts, four bouts in which he scored at least one knockdown and the other was a shutout. In the words of Joe Anoaʻi, this is his yard.

I don't get it. Científico has been ranked top 5 with the WBA for a long ass time now (and has cracked the IBF top 15 as well), but he's still languishing at home in squash matches like this? Get him overseas in an eliminator, stat!

Of course Tank Davis probably don't want none of that smoke. :sisi1

So this isn’t the main event either? I think Pedroza vs. Soto may be the actual main event for some reason

This is for the WBA Fedelatin 108lb title, second defense of Matellón.

The champ is rated #8 in the world by the WBA. His opponent, "Mayonesas" Andrade of Mexico, is absent from the WBA top 15 but is rated #13 by the WBC.
