    Round 7

Piątkowska is cracking Lindberg with longer & longer combinations now, fluidly putting together punches in triplicate and even quads. Piątkowska is repelling Lindberg's clinch attempts now by positioning herself for maximum shoving leverage, using both arms to pry Lindberg off as soon as she lands inside with her body-attacking leaps, or skewering her on the way in with jabs on the face. Piątkowska has Lindberg hurt and chases her across the ring with a triple jab on the cheek. Lindberg drops, nearly onto all fours, and pitches forward to hold.

    10-9 Piątkowska

    68-65 Piątkowska

    Round 8

Piątkowska is now on her bike, protecting what is certainly a comfortable points lead now, perhaps showing her elder a bit of respect or professional courtesy in not putting the boot-hell down on her throat. Piątkowska just circles wide to her left, fluttering jabs into the face of a very tired Lindberg. Barely any power shots from Piątkowska, taking it very easy.

    10-9 Piątkowska

    78-74 Piątkowska

    Round 9

Piątkowska is breathing through a gaping-open mouth now, panting almost like a dog, but still keeping wide abreast of Lindberg, able to outdo her in foot speed and beat her to the punch in what has become a whirling jab duel in the center of the ring. Lindberg's stubby arms now too leaden & slow - getting only halfway there, with Piątkowska's counter jabs passing by twice on their way to & from their own target before she's finished her punching motion. Lindberg working her ass off but may as well be shadowboxing in a 1000 gallon vat of molasses.

    10-9 Piątkowska

    88-83 Piątkowska

    Round 10

Piątkowska is pushing her jab now, dancing away from Lindberg's hard up-and-over oarsman's right hands delivered at the chin & midsection diving in. Lindberg actually hurt Piątkowska a few times, putting her on the run. Lindberg was conserving a bit of energy in the last few rounds, it appears, or has found a second wind. BIG right hands slammed in repeatedly by Lindberg. Piątkowska ties up and nearly falls down from exhaustion. Sloppy flurry by Piątkowska to pave the way for another clinch, until the bell.

    10-9 Lindberg

    97-93 Piątkowska

@Somachenko you just missed a MUCH better fight than Ugonoh vs. Kassi, man...

You know what? That fight was good enough, and the previous one enough of a farce, that I'm demoting Ugonoh vs. Kassi from the RBR title and replacing it with this one (more in line with the actual structure of the bill anyway) :sisi1

I wonder what happened to Kassi. He used to actually be a game and tough guy, seemingly.

    I’ll survive:jaja-no:
I’ll start watching women’s boxing when the people in charge of it actually start caring about it. 2 minute rounds let’s me know it’s not a real form of the sport. It’s like arena football vs. the NFL.

I understand that POV, and shared it for many years.

It was Cecilia Brækhus (and to a lesser extent Hanna Gabriels) that changed my thinking.

Some female boxers are genuinely world class, in like a gender-for-gender pound-for-pound sense.

It sucks, though, because they're wasted on such a literal & figurative "no man's land" of talent, and usually face a dearth of competition in their shallow divisions...and so they have to make crazy jumps up (or cuts down) in weight just to make "big" fights happen..

I actually will watch Cecilia and Hanna, but not for the boxing lmao. Shields almost changed my perspective but her bout with Nelson was terrible (mainly Nelson’s fault). I’ve wasted enough time watching horrific mismatches because of the things you’re talking about in your last paragraph to know that I’m personally better served only watching matches between women who are aesthetically pleasing in a non-boxing sense lol

Cedric Antonio Kyles (aka "The Entertainer", who is now attempting to reinvent himself as more of a serious dramatic actor under his real name) was on Conan last week...and he looks more credible a heavyweight contender than Dominick Alexander Guinn in 2018.
