Szpilka is jabbing high, brushing Guinn's thickly knotted braids pressed close to his scalp. Guinn raises his guard instinctively to match the heights at which Szpilka is jabbing, opening up a lane to his chest and chin, where Szpilka lands some jabs. Guinn finally discovers some courage and puts two whole right hands together. One misses and the second one grazes. This seems to light a fire under Szpilka's ass, since he then opens up with a fiery combination. 1-2-3, Guinn DOWN!! He's up and circling behind a weak left jab. Szpilka jumps on him, throwing more combos, but too manic & hyper, needs to settle down or...yep, Guinn has survived.

First time in his career. That was also the first time Szpilka really took an offensive chance seriously. This could've maybe developed into a nice heavyweight brawl if only he were brave enough to do that much earlier. We ultimately would have either seen Guinn stopped (as opposed to merely dropped) for the first time ever, or Szpilka get KTFO trying.

 

Hey, only the first 9 rounds and 2 minutes...

 

Michael Buffer doesn't even bother reading the judges' names and individual scorecards one by one, just announces that it was a UD for Artur Szpilka ...

 

The other American in the ring could have put up a better fight tonight.

 

Artur seems really proud of himself, going by his body language running around the ring to shake hands with Guinn, Buffer, et al - and giddy tone in his victory interview...

 

Actually that would've been a much better solution, yeah.
