As you said he used it before, maybe in training. The exact same pad for Cotto? hard to believe imo.

What is disturbing that a trainer not only was the one to see this but also the fact he had to argue with the guy who signed it off and then get the commissioner to see. Naazim did a sterling job that night and protected his fighter and saved a life IMO. Without guys like him this sport would be ****ing ridiculous. The stories i've heard about fighters wraps having excessive Gauze etc is incredible.

Didn't Nazim Richardson say the pad he took out was powdery? I haven't seen anything in the CSAC report to suggest that.

I remember him saying it was a block, solid. Have to try find the interview again but i remember seeing it and it's like a solid block. That's why everyone knows Margarito's chatting ****. A trainer puts that on your knuckles your gonna know it's wrong.

I'd have to read it again, I have the report itself. They were fairly comprehensive - it wasn't just the wraps - they tested the insert and found that it had a hardened "plaster-like" substance. In theory, as the fight wore on and Antonio's gloves got hotter it would have gotten harder.

It won't make you punch harder, but it would cause more damage to the skin and tissues. Also, as the weight increases it would make the fighter's arms more tired, but may add additional heft on to the shots.

The powdery thing came out later. Actually, let's be glad of Richardson - they were trying to wrap Margo's hands before he'd come in to the room. It's only because he stood his ground and insisted they re-wrap that we all found out.

When the CSAC investigated (and did a good job, IMO), they discovered the residue. Here's Nazim's story and his opinion... (below)

James Degale and Audley Harrison have got nothing to do with this fight.

Miguel Cotto is not winning this fight

    I don't sound sure? I haven't made a pick yet, you deluded, mentally-ill ****.

The others have plenty to do with it, because both times you said there was "no way" either would lose. Some people on here think you're funny, I know you're just a **** though.

    Make one then you shitbag..?

I know I'm a complete and utter psycho, and i like it mate.

Bottom line is, i just stated that you are a **** bag. And this post of your's proves that you are a complete and utter shitbag, shouting about, coming up in the topic like you have made pick.

And you have'nt even made one..? :rofl

You need people like me, you need people that can split and divide opinion. And I can do that........

But i'm not even assed, because i hardly post here anymore.....

If i wanted to pick the winning fighter everytime, "I would". But sometimes, its about the debate........

But i can assure you, Antonio Margarito will win this fight. I'm not bothered about the debate, because i post on these forums about twice per month these days.

I'm not trying to spark no debates, i'm just simply picking the winner.

As Mandanda has already stated, it was more to do with the crap training camp Margarito had prior to the Mosley fight. For Cotto, he was in phenomenal condition, but even Dough Fischer said he thought something was wrong with Margarito in the Mosley camp, he was well overweight and drained.
There was also what I found a very revealing interview of Javier Capetillo on the Ring's site a while back on the whole debacle, when pressed he said he knew Margarito had had a bad camp, and panicked when wrapping the hands. Interpret that as you may.

Ignoring for a second exactly what was illegal about the pads, the most defining question in this matter is when Margarito's hands started to become illegally wrapped.

We know for a fact that before Capetillo even trained him, he was able to blow away Sergio Martinez in 7 rounds. Even after his suspension he was able to put Robert Garcia (a sturdy light middle) down in their bout, and seriously bruised Manny Pacquiao up despite being dominated by him for 12 rounds. So for me, his power isn't in question.

A common theory is he started after the Williams fight, I can understand that logic. However, that still means he could thrash Kermit Cintron in 5, and cause serious damage to Sebastian Lujan's ear with numerous overhand rights.

As for his use/non-use in the Cotto fight, again I can see the logic. Cotto's camp didn't inspect, and if Capetillo was happy to do it for Mosley, I doubt he would have passed up the free shot he was given to do the same here. However, I disagree when people compare the pads found illegal prior to the Mosley fight to the photo shown of Margarito post-Cotto. Firstly, the red stains for me are clearly the residue of red gloves, worn by Margarito in the Cotto fight. Secondly, where exactly would these pads be stored in the 6 month wait between fights? Why not just make up a fresher pair of pads? So that doesn't stand up for me.

My last point would be regarding people's labeling of Margarito as a cheat. He must be treated with suspicion, that much is obvious. It has to be remembered though that after every fight I can remember, he removed his gloves and walked around shaking hands, pumping fists and acting generally carefree. That's not the behaviour of someone who supposedly knows he has "plaster-like blocks" that by then would have hardened, in his handwraps. Many reports also state that during the Mosley scenario, Margarito was happy for his hands to be re-wrapped, again, not the behaviour of someone who knows his hands are wrapped illegally.

Apologies for the essay, but as a Margarito fan I try to make people at least try to see another side to the story, I certainly do not think things are as black and white as most assume.

Including Martinez is off-base, since it was at a weight where the handsome one was still a novice. And it was stoppage, he certainly didn't 'blow him away'.

Your other points are fair, but hardly get him off the hook.
