    1. You can try to ko golovkin by catching him first and often in a Hagler and Hearns scenario, but he will most likely catch you first and harder. So this person has to have a great chin, punch and heart to win it this way.

    2. You can commit to boxing and good foot movement, trying to frustrate his attack and win by decision. His fight with Monroe and Proksa shows he can still hit you even harder from distance and more often while you spend your energy circling and back peddling. So this person also has to have great stamina to follow the plan, a decent chin and a good punch himself.

I think 2 is the best way to beat Golovkin, but no MW currently can execute 2 at the highest level and as for 1 if Golovkin cooperates with the Mexican style, he has the best punch and chin in the division to dictate what kind of fight it is going to be.

Yeah I agree. I see nobody at 160 beating him. It's a shame such a great fighter doesn't have good competition to display his true greatness. hagler had the opportunity during his career having never having to move out of middleweight to prove his greatness and he was an avoided fighter early in his career. Once he won the belt fighters back then had the ***** to fight him and were more talented. Boxing is a dying sport.

There are still some guys out there with the heart of a champion.

Gonzalez, Estrada, Bradley, Pascal, Kovalev, and Porter. But for the most part boxing right now is severely lacking nuts.

Can you imagine if a Canelo would have pushed his catch weight nonsene on Hagler?

It's just weird thinking about MW boxing today because Hearns was just so bold and awesome. He went right for the jugular with no stipulations.

I can finally absolutely agree with you on this.
I looked at boxrec for upcoming fights and all I see is TBA.

Terrence Crawford can't get a guy to sign the contract.

Porter wants to fight Keith Thurman who is missing since Collazo scared him.

Jose Benavidez is being ducked by Broner.

Jesse Vargas is confused about his nationality and fight style and is chasing Bradley for a rematch.(He abandon boxing for Mexican style and got outclassed because he has no power for that style)

Honestly Golovkin is being openly ducked by his division.

    on and on....

Right now the juice is not worth the squeeze. He may be great, but he is not recognized for it. It is a no win situation,

Yep. It's a simple matter of the risk not being worth the reward.

They don't think they can win base on their observation of his performance. Saunders talk bring this into the forefront.

when u got someone as good as GENA and one champion wants a catchweight and the other says in 18 months he'll be ready its because they know they will loose. Its not a matter of 'maybe' or 'blueprint' Its they know with certainty they will loose...its a shame cos once gena gets all the belts casuals all around the world will tune into his fighting style..no dancing or point scoring just mexican style

Hagler would had taken it in a second with not a peep out of him.

The new and casual fans have no idea how hard it was for hagler to get good fights. No one would fight him, total high risk zero reward.

Took him forever to get a title fight then was robbed of victory with a draw. He won but didn't do so convincingly to the naked eye.. then he had to basically start over, by the time he won a title he was already on the back 9
