I have been very high on Josh Rosholt's potential since I heard he was entering MMA, he is a 3 time NCAA champion wrestler with one 3rd place and a Jr National Freestyle champion as well, obviously an incredible wrestler.

What everybody has been saying, and what I have seen, is that he is also taking up BJJ like a complete natural, due to his work ethic and wrestling. His takedowns are great, his groundwork is great, he is just amazing. Good chin to, more on that later.

But who I am now also high on is Nissen Osterneck, he just about KO'd Rosholt on two or three occasions and also had decent ground work. He really took it to Rosholt standing, had him out on his feet almost, props to him on his fight.

He was undefeated until tonight, and almost stayed that way.

Rosholt defininately needs some more work on his standing, but he will get it at Couture's, and Osterneck is obviously not an easy person to try something new out on.

These two fighters are going big places, especially Josh, unless his standup never improves, his chin looked alright, took alot of flush shots.

This is also why I get so frustrated with fights where wrestlers try to stand and abandon the takedown
(I believe Jimmy pointed this out) after missing one or two takedowns; its better to go out and lose trying to do somehting that can win you the fight than lose doing something you know won't win you the fight.

But again, two very promising young fighters who will be going big places.

Good points, Beebs. Both guys put up solid fights. Nissen was doing all of his escapes and reversals properly - but Rosholt's base must have been like a mountain.

    Good fight.

Rosholt was impressive in every way he was very strong and his technique was very sound but his striking was some of the worst ive seen I know it will improve cause it cant get much worse but I wouldnt stick him in with any top guys yet or even close.
