I don’t think that’s a great fight for Taylor tbh, but good for us fans. 147 it is then.

I like Taylor, he’s a proper boxer and deserves his props. Was matched hard, won undisputed and has always been friendly when I have met him.

The whole Catterall saga is something I bet he wishes he could forget. The camp, underestimating him, the poor performance and his disregard towards the decision and his opponent afterwards which lost him popularity with boxing fans.

Hopefully that happens by December and then Taylor vs Catterall II happens at a catchweight at 143. Can be on DAZN in the UK and on ESPN in the US. It’s the fight both fighters need after the controversy of the first despite it being a terrible fight.

You are the only person who comments on boxing, who wants to see that rematch. It was crap and a terrible clash of styles. No words.

Why not? Catterall was unlucky last time out. Taylor said he was injured. Both fighters have a score to settle. It’s a big fight in the UK.

Sky put the rematch on PPV.

Couldn’t care less about the Catterall rematch, got absolutely no interest in seeing that again as Catterall is dreadful to watch.

Top Rank have mapped out the route at 147 for him with a view to fighting for a world title within his next 3 fights.

    Because Hearn wants it.

Dreadful fight. Catterall needs to move on instead of him and that whopper Sam Jones still banging on about it.

Taylor is a top lad. Met him briefly in Tenerife a few years ago. Never changed or built up a fake persona. As real as they come.

Catterall was definitely unlucky, but it was a horrible fight to watch and you also say we, as boxing fans should PPV to watch it. Ridiculous and no one would.

It would do about as well as that crap PPV in San Fran at the beginning of December with boring Haney.

You misunderstood me. My point is that DAZN wouldn’t put Taylor vs Catterall on PPV unlike Sky.

Haney will be on PPV from now on regardless of the platform and opposition.

Fck me. A simple ‘Taylor is in talks with Avanesyan’ comment is somehow turned into another conversation about how good DAZN in and how it provides good value. Painful.

I'd enjoy this, especially if it's in the UK and shown on Sky at a sensible time. Avanesyan put in a credible performance vs Crawford in Omaha, and could definitely cause Josh problems.

You'd expect an on form Taylor to come through relatively comfortably, but Ava is no mug and Taylor won't get away with much.

I’m sticking by my man and saying a fully fit and well prepared Taylor is still a world class fighter and will win a belt at 147.

Think he rushed into the Lopez fight far too soon after the foot injury. Couldn’t do his road work properly and was gassed after 4 rounds on fight night.

His camp for Catterall was horrendous. The original date was postponed because of a knee injury and then Covid and a chest infection meant he had to start the weight cut for the rearranged date far too late. I’ve seen footage of him on his hotel room floor hours before the weight in looking like a skeleton after being wrapped in hot towels and barely able to stand up.

I never saw that footage, but heard about it, sounds awful and right up there with the poor (or just plain stupid) Jamie McDonnell shaking at the weigh in against Inoue.

Boxers in camp with injuries is the worst, it takes away your confidence big time. I remember Sergio Martinez literally being bandaged up against Darren Barker the week before they boxed and he still stopped him lol. Both elbows were gone, obviously the knee which we know all about was badly messed up, he had no business winning that fight, yet somehow he did. Tough boy.

I am also hoping Taylor has a good run at welterweight, he deserves it.

It’s on the ‘Portrait of a Fighter’ documentary which is still on the BBC iPlayer. It’s a good watch if you have a spare half hour.

Very few want to see 2 UK fighters in a ring again regardless of opponent - Okolie and Catterall
