Do anyone really believe those two extra pounds (145 to 147) would have made the difference? So why don't get the full credit for the win over Cotto fighting him at the normal 147 lbs? What's your perception about this topic?

The fighters agreed, and that makes it fair but I don't think that weight made a difference. Cotto was in great shape. Pac was in great shape. I don't think if he fights at welterweight again they are going to worry about that limit. I really don't.

The two pounds would not have changed the outcome, but Cotto would've been a little more competitive and stronger if he did not have to drain himself. Probably a UD for Manny anyway.

2 pounds always makes some difference but I dont think it effected the result, I dont think cotto looked drained and Pac deserves the credit.

However I don't think they should have been allowed to fight for the belt if its a catch weight. How can you be the welter weight champion of the world if the fight was not at the welter weight limit.

I think that its not that it would have made a difference in the outcome but it was the fair weight to fight at. Pacquiao really has to work extra to bulk up his body to fight at 145 and therefore its only fair that Cotto has to work extra too.

That way, if Cotto wins, theres no excuses, and if Pacquiao wins, theres no excuses.

Cotto was drained, but Pacquiao was above his natural weight.

Well there should be no reason for anymore catchweight fights. Manny did well at 145 so 147 shouldn't be a problem.

I dont believe the pounds affected Cotto, but I also dont believe he needed to weigh in @ 145 for the fight to happen. Pac looked just as strong as Cotto. Very impressive victory by Pac regardless.

Why are you all saying this? Its got nothing to do with the topic. Its about whether making Cotto cut the extra weight to make the fight was worth it, in terms of the reduced praise Pac will get for beating a fighter who was more weight drained than usual.
