I agree that Pac doesn't get anywhere near enough credit for the second Morales fight. However, I still think that Marquez doesn't get enough credit for the Casa win either. Both were excellent and underrated victories IMO.

One sub-par performance does not mean he is not a great fighter. John didn't look good against Juarez IMO, but he is a very good fighter. All the greats have their off-nights. Mayweather (Castillo I), Pacquiao (Morales I), Hopkins (Taylor II), etc. These guys are still the world's elite.

Not in the video I watched...Marquez was more then competitive..I thought he clearly won.

Though I have spoke to several people who were ringside and from where they were sitting they thought John edged it.

But from the film...I cant agree with that.

Marquez is always a good match up for Pac in 130 and below. But at 135-l40, he will surely gett knocked out by Pac.

I thought it was a close, competitive fight to be honest, but fair enough mate.

Cuz casamayor is 37 yrs old and way past his prime. His 2 fights before the marquez fight he was losing. Against santa cruz he loss but got the decision win. Against katsidis he was losing until he knockout katsidis.

I agree. I don't think Marquez will hold the extra weight as well as Pac will. Marquez had real trouble with Diaz's strength early on in their fight, whereas Pac walked through Hatton. And although everyone says Hatton was shot now, watch his fight vs Malignaggi, who he beat far more comfortably than Cotto did. Hatton was strong as an ox at 140, obviously physically stronger than Diaz.

Good point (especially at 140 and above), no arguments here.

Same here. Oh but he (Fed) will. :yep

Yeah no worries mate..Lets start with round 2 and tell us what you think.

    http://www.megavideo.com/?d=MDJEJ6HP

Round 2 starts at about 18 mins on this copy.

Round 2: Pretty easy round to score...Chris not particularly busy, missing most of his shots, jab falling short and hadnt quite found his range yet..Marquez doing better work with his jab..About half way through the round a big right scores for JMM..This I think hurts Chris a little because he is on his toes not long after..John slightly staggered by a glancing left with about 30 secs ago, nothing serious. Good body shot to close out the round for Marquez.

There is one round "where JMM was superior".

I had it 114-112 for JMM from memory...I still thought he won it even with the point deductions.

I dont think it was a robbery..I think people overstate that and probably havent seen the fight if they think it is..but I think the wrong man got the nod and some of those scores were scandalous.

(Hope I dont get into trouble for this)

What the **** are you talking about, there was'nt any American media there to cover the fight....

....the extent of the media coverage in the US was from the word of alone fight news correspondent who happened to be Indonesian.

Forums like this did'nt comment on the happenings of the actual fight until the video started circulating throughout the internet.......when that happened, websites like ring talk that cared enough to give a word on the fight, calle it "the heist of the year!"
