- How good was he on his best night? - How do you assess Wanderlei Silva's win over him? A great win, or not? :bbb
B class heavy. Had an iron head and heavy hands. That was pretty much it. Still for Wandy to beat a massive heavy like him was some accomplishment as Fujita was no small man. That said Fujita did have somewhat impressive wins over the likes of Shamrock (who retired from injury) Mark Kerr (who just got tired) , and nearly stopped a prime Fedor.
Or his fight with James Thompson, where James got bored of giving him a one sided beatdown and decided to slug it out, toe to toe, getting his china chin cracked once again . There was a hilarious article on Cracked about Fujita's head and the punishment it took, I think I need to read it again.
Whoever thought it would be a good idea to put him in with Reem needs locking up. That was a terrible mismatch
Fujita's nick name was quite apt "Iron Head". He actually did have an abnormally thicker skull. Hardly surprising judging by the size of his head. Was almost Tito-esque.
He was a good challenger. Not a championship material but had a big heart and a good chin. Ken Shamrock was whooping his ass but the dude just kept coming until shamrock ran out of gas. I still give silva's win an A grade just cuz he was smaller and was able to stop fujita.
