As a boxing fan I figured I would write this again and repost it here on ESB it's already been posted by me on Boxing S***e. I'm making this as an unbiased article as I did before. Let's flash back to 1988 with Tyson/Holmes I was still in elementary school then but everyone was a Tyson fan at that time it seemed. True to form Tyson tore through Holmes in six rounds. I don't believe anybody has ever 'stopped' Holmes aside from Tyson. Which is what Manny is expected to do. To stop someone who has never been stopped. Tough order because a lot of people who said they would knock him out including Floyd didn't. But it could happen and that's what I would compare it to Tyson/Holmes in 88'. Let's go more recent for Mosley with the Super Six Johson/Green. Johson who is 48 and hadn't competed at SMW since 2000. Now in 2010 an old man has to drain down from competing at light heavyweight and keep in mind Johnson's 8-9 years older than Mosley. I thought damn Dibella's taking a page out of Arum's book and recycling fighters. Now disrespect to Bob. But actually I was surprised how sharp Johnson looked against Green. He looked better than than he did at light-heavy recently anyway. He got the knock out and is waiting for his match with Froch write now. That's what I would compare it to for Mosley. Johnson/Green 2010. How do you think it might turn out?

Johnson is only 42 and is only 3 years older than Mosley.

Not sure your point. Johnson was the underdog against Green not the prohibitive favorite as Pacquiao and Tyson were in your examples. There is no dynamic in the Johnson fights as to winning by KO being an integral part of the buildup.

Oh man, I had heard somewhere he was 48. The point I was trying to make is just that Mosley can have a surprising end as did Johnson /Green. Why was it surprise? Because I really figured Johson would've been drained from going down in weight at that age. Like I said he did better than he had recently. Which means Mosley has that chance to.

Then why the Tyson/holmes reference? That still doesn't fit.

And pacquiao is pound 4 pound #1
that's a far cry from allan green as an opponent who is a pound for pound chump

The Tyson/Holmes reference fits here is why. Tyson was the number one fighter at that time. People to this day say Holmes was on the downside. That's why the reference is there. That will be what people will say if shane loses.

Johnson beat Dawson in their first fight, but was cheated. Johnson does not show his age.

    1. Tyson/Holmes went 4 not 6 rounds.
    2. Johnson is 42 not 48.
