I disagree. :-( Rocky should be way faster simply because he weighed 15-20 LB less then Liston fightnight, they're probably about equal imo
exactly tommy, it is my point. prime liston weighed 212 pounds, rocky 185. and liston was a bigger man. and honestly i have eyes.... the liston who faced williams and patterson was a bit faster than any version of marciano.
sufficient force to generate a human ten second concussion is all that is required. If a guy is out for 3 minutes or 1 minute its only the ref’s ten second count than counts! I believe that a heavyweight KO punch that lands right is a KO punch regardless of how heavy or fast the punch is. Great fighters have the knack to land at the right moment, when in position. They can orchestrate the victim into position no mater how fast he is then "pop!". fast or slow they still do the job just as well because the timing is there, the radar is there and The power is there. You dont need to beat a guy to the draw if you instictivly pull the trigger when the other guy is not ready. Liston, foreman and marciano were born to do this. what counts is a guys connection ratio on world class guys with their Sunday punch. Liston, foreman and Marciano did not have lightning fast hands but neither had problems catching speedy guys. All that separated them was different levels of stamina, seasoning, durability, conditioning, desire, weight, height and reach they had over each other.
Yes, Foreman was born to be extremely strong and powerful (like Marciano), and was a naturally big man. But we're just going to have to agree to disagree on this issue, because this discussion is just going to keep going in circles.
Shouldn't Liston be way faster than Foreman simply because he weighed 10-15lbs less than Foreman on fight night then? Shouldn't Foreman be way faster than Lewis come fight night simply because he weighed 15-20lbs less? That logic is flawed.
i respect your opinion, simply rockysplit for example said " marciano was MUCH faster than frazier and foreman" and it is simply false.
It's different. Liston and foreman were pretty much the same size, foreman had a few inches in height, but their builds were very similar. George was also slightly bigger, but on tape/pictures they look the same to me. and yeah. Liston was faster then foreman IMO. I'm not going to talk about Lewis because they had different styles. foreman could be fast like other fighters if he pawed with his shots like certain Rocky was noticeably smaller then Liston, and foreman, yet he was still slower. my point is they were all pretty much the same speed when punching but I give the edge to Liston and foreman despite rocky being smaller
yes i agree, i have no problem to say liston was a bit faster than a prime foreman with his hands(so is not matter if i am a foreman fan), because it was a fact, but in my opinion rocky was not faster.(maybe equal hand speed, but foreman and liston had faster legs hands down, and they were much bigger, it is the point)
it is a fact!!!.....but it not!!! It is just my opinion!!! It is the point!!! It is not a fact!!! It is your opinion!! Yes??!
Rocky by KO in 2. 'Two Ton" Tony just barely makes it through the 1st Round. How about Tony Galento vs. Clemenza (Godfather)
MR. UN.... I never saw Tony Galento and Clemenza together at the same function. Kind of like Superman and Clark Kent,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,could it be???
