He reveled in his porkiness and gave legitimacy to fatties everywhere. He owned it, and was a dangerous fighter besides.

Galento was a beast .. he was very thick and strong , look at how strong his legs and calves were .. he was originally I believe a middleweight that simply packed it on like Toney did but his body was deceiving ...

the well known clip of Marciano and Jackie Gleason talking about Galento

He's fat but not fat like Ruiz Jr.
I mean, if I looked like Ruiz Jr. I'd be embarrassed to take my shirt off, at any age nevermind as a 30 year old boxer ......... whereas Galento looks porky for a professional athlete but not obese or horrendous by normal standards.
He looks like a naturally strong workman pub brawler, which is what he was.

Frazier's upper body looks slighter, less developed, small shoulders.

Are you crazy ? The weighlifters, shot putters and the powerlifters are much more stronger than the fat ass sumos or the linemen.

Weight lifters and power lifters don't have the functional strength and fast twitch explosive muscle of linemen and sumo.

I have competed in boxing, Karate, jiu jutsu, and muy Thai for 15 years. The strongest guy I ever fought by far was this flabby 40 something cop with a beer gut. He had overwhelming strength, I had no choice but to use technique and strategy to beat him, and I was in my early 20's and a pretty strong guy myself.

Compared to the muscle head power lifter I sparred last year, he was way stronger. That guy could lift a hell of a lot and had huge shoulders and arms like Dwight Howard but in terms of strength in the clinches and explosive strength, he had nothing on the chubby cop.
