I dont think its OVER YET:nono

Floyd has ridden the hype even more so than guy's like RJJ. He's picked and chosen his paths. I see several guys in the running and if Floyd fails to capture victories against Cotto and Williams after Hatton? IT wiil be the same old song and dance routine. A routine that the real ATG's did their best to avoid.:yep

I've given Floyd credit for positioning himself near the top of the game but it aint over without a stretch run.

Mayweather is an incredible talent. He is probbly the best of his generation, and if he beats Hatton (he should) he needs to face Cotto or someone of Cotto's level to truly make his mark on boxing history.

He's got to get past Ricky first... But aside from that, beating Cotto would solidify his legacy for the masses, but anyone who knows boxing knows that Cotto should be so lucky to get a shot at Floyd. Floyds ring accomplishments by far surpass those of Cotto.

I think Mayweather should fight all opponents in and around his weight until he is ready to retire except Paul Williams...that is the one fight I honestly see him loosing no doubt about it. He wouldn't be able to get inside, and I honestly cant see him winning more than 2 or 3 rounds in that fight. PBF has the ability to beat any fighter in Welter but we all know styles make fights and PW's style and stature would be way too much for someone as small and compact as PBF to handle. Besides that I can visualize him beating anyone around his weight. I do agree with the original statement and I do think he needs to beat Cotto to cement his legacy.

guys trust me - after floyd knocks hatton out, he will fight cotto. He knows this, cotto knows this, bob arum knows this, and the rest of the world knows this. Floyd aint scared of nobody. the ****ing guy spars with middleweights, yet he is supposed to be concerned with Cotto. The guy who gets put on ***** street a lot and had a 36 year old mosley chasing him down the last 4 rounds of their fight. And I think he takes out cotto with ease - you heard it hear first.

de la hoya was a champion when floyd fought him, what was mosley again, a guy on a comeback trail:admin

    :nono

quintana and judah were not champions. floyd defeated baldomir and judah when they were champions. lets's see if cotto can step up and beat a champion first before facing floyd.

You know your **** but you're way off if you think he doesn't have any chance at all.

How will it solidify his legacy at 140 when the fight is taking place at 147?

If he fights Hatton then he's ducking Cotto, if he fights Cotto then he's ducking Williams, if he fights Williams then he's ducking both Cotto and Cintron.... and the bull**** will keep coming regardless of who he fights.

Do you really believe that Hatton won't take a single round?

Thats one bet lost anyway ;)

Seriously, i think you're overating Floyd and underating Hatton. Sure Floyd is the favourite but Hatton is a very live underdog in my opinion and win or lose, he will gain peoples respect come December 8th.

If Mayweather doesn't fight Cotto it's going to leave a lot of questions left unanswered about both fighters.

I agree that fighting Cotto would fairly put him along with the best of his generation n of the class of 2000 too but there are two or three other fights on the horizon of possibilities that would cement his past achievement into a full chapter of Boxing's History, the so-called Mayweather era, and those are obviously in the WW Division.
