Top notch beasts. Even when they fought, people didn't discuss too much about them but MAN, they were natural born fighters with MASSIVE will and b@lls!:smoke:bbb

Orlando Salido is underrated, especially this 130lb version. Right now, he's better than Marcos Maidana.
Froch is very good, but he was beaten by a prime Kessler and certainly lost 10-2 to Dirrell - absolute robbery.

Quite a big skill difference between the two. At his best Froch was a P4P top ten level fighter, whereas Maidana was a B level fighter whos main claim to fame is nearly beating an overrated Mayweather.

Salido only looks good against guys willing to trench war with him. Against elite boxers he looks like boo boo.

Salido in very recent times > Salido in the past.

I'm not trying to say Salido is some major elite, but I'm putting it into perspective by saying Salido in very recent times is certainly better than Maidana.

Salido recently outhustled Lomachenko (albeit a very novice version with no pacing strategy and fouled)...one of the best pure boxers ever.

Losing to ATG Marquez (which was a very competitive, close fight), and two elite monsters like prime FW Gamboa and Mikey Garcia doesn't itself make Salido anything less than a very good fighter.

He's very good, he just doesn't look very good against good technical fighters which brings him down a notch in my book.

No, Maidana is spectacularly overrated. He's meant to be a puncher but yet couldn't KO either Khan or Ortiz who have two of the worst chins in boxing.

Vastly overrated because of the 1st PBF fight, a very limited crude brawler.

I dont think either is under rated. Maidana was a decent fighter who had a few good wins and people respect his power and determination. The same can be said of Froch. People rank him as the 2nd-3rd best SMW of his post-Calzaghe era and that sounds about right to me.

So much wrong with what you just said (except the chin part).

First of all, he improved his jab, lateral movement, and defense under Robert Garcia. Granted, he is not a master boxer but he became a better version of himself in the JSK and Lopez fights.

Second point, Maidana was always fairly sloppy with his punching technique and he was solely a heavy-handed puncher who could wear opponents down but never delivered a spectacular one-punch KO unlike Hearns who was a much more explosive puncher but not really so much heavy-handed.

Finally, Maidana gave Floyd trouble because Maidana was great at confusung Floyd's defense with feints and an awkward rhythm. A great offensive fighter would have easier time dominating Maidana than Mayweather due to styles.

Froch got every drop out of his ability and did well for it but he's one of the most overrated fighters in recent memory.
