It sounds like its going to be a bit a funny one this prizefighter and in a way even more of a freakshow than usual and yet somehow I am looking forward to it
Wonder if the Yanks will get this as well now. I think they got one of the LHW shows a few weeks back shown delayed. Fox Sports showed it I think.
I read somewhere this was getting syndicated out to quite a few different countries Germany is getting it im pretty sure. Wouldnt surprise me if they got this on American TV its quite clever potentially widens the TV audiences and revenue by making it international. Im interested to know what the prize money is going to be for this surely more than 32k
I wonder what network would pick it up. :think It might be a bit lowbrow for HBO or Showtime, and the timing wouldn't work out for an ESPN2 prime time broadcast... Maybe streaming on ESPN3.com? That seems to be how American audiences get to see most European boxing these days (at least the continental kind).
Maybe they could drag Smokin' Joe out of retirement, he is always good for a bitter quote, if they cannot afford Toney. Hell, bring in Jack Dempsey. Sure he has the notable handicap of being dead for 30 years, but as Audley showed; in this type of tournament, that at worse makes him pick'em against the rest of the field.:yep
