a popular boxing records website has this listed. I think Fields will ko Barrett only because Barrett is on the decline. Unlike Valuev, Fields will throw a barage of punches and sooner or later connect. If it were 3 or 4 years ago, I would pick Barrett by easy UD. at least Fields is finally taking on someone with a pulse. His record is extremely padded.

Could be a good, short fight.

Size vs. Experience, hard to pick a winner.

No Rahman for Fields? That was the talk before. Oh well. This should still be good.

Not too bad a fight, for a Tye Fields show down.

Barrett's a step up, but not a big one anymore.

Fields should win. He throws a ton of punches and Barrett doesn't have a big punch to stop him and I cant see an old Barrett outpointing Fields.

Fields and Rahman would've been better.

Good fight if its on VS network.

If its on the Pac/Diaz card I hope to hell its not the chief support fight.

That would put it on track to becoming a shitty ppv.

Tye should beat Barrett.. He is on form and Monte is very inconsistant..

He took a beatdown from Clifford Couser not so long ago.. Even though he returned the compliment .. It makes you really wonder..

Field is on a good run because he has been fighting trash cans. He has a horrible style and will be exposed before too long.

Monte is still a decent heavy who would have too much for many of the so called contenders at the moment. I think he can ride out the early storm and take a points win or even a late stoppage.

I'm not sure that the 2008 version of Monte Barrett is any better than the 2005 version of Bruce Seldon.

What happend to Fields vs Rahman? Bob Arum said he had the fight set.

    Rahman is the tougher fight.

I don't think that this is the best way for Tye Fields to make a name for himself, or get the experience that he needs. Monte Barrett is basically done for as far as I can see. He used to be an okay fighter, but has lost 4 out of his last 8 matches in 5 years. He's 36 years old, and is starting to resemble a journeyman. The Rahman fight would have been a much better test for Fields.

I lean towards Barrett. Fields is so slow with his punches it's almost comical.

Granted Barrett is on the decline but I think he's got enough to outbox the crude giant.

Delicious Dan Rafael said Rahman was approached for the fight.

Said he'd rather face Rossy or Haye instead so Top Rank offered the $ to Barrett.

Not a bad start fight for Fields to move up to, He really needs to start fighting decent opponents now. The big guy is looking ok now and I can not think of too many American heavies that I would pick over him apart from Arreola and Thompson.
