i don't know I heard that Tye Fields is an american Valuev with better workrate and boxing skills but i never saw him fight.
Monte Barrett gave Nicolay Valuev one hell of a fight for eleven rounds, showing great effort and probably making it way more entertaining than he should have. He did lose (exhausted from winging punches at the 300 pounder), but I don't think Tye Fields is as good as Valuev. Fields punches are wider, and his chin is going to be ALOT more available for Monte to tag. I'm picking Barret on a ninth round stoppage - I see him tagging Fields on the way in, much like he did with Guinn, and taking him out late. GO BARRETT!:bbb :bbb :bbb :bbb :bbb :bbb
Valuev has better boxing skills than Tye Fields, especially his jab. Tye isn't that bad though, he just fights very clumsy and he does throw a lot of early leather....................
I've always liked Monte, but you have to think he's shot at this point. As lumbering as Fields is and as much crap as he's taken on this board, he has improved a lot from his early days. For a huge man, he throws a ton of punches. My prediction is that he outworks Monte comfortably for a wise-decision. Arum chose this opponent wisely, a name former top-10 fighter who is now past his best.
Barrett is shot. Fields wide UD, although I can see the possibility of an early Barrett KO win. They may be arm punches, but there aren't too many other HWs who can throw 1000 punches a fight.
Amen, Fields threw 1000+ against Kendrick Releford, a very capable journeyman. It will take a hard puncher to beat Fields, and Monte ain't it at this stage.
Tye "The White Chris Arreola" Fields At least he has an excuse for being slow, the guy is gigantic. His stanima is very impressive though. He has some power. Finally, this is a step up from what he was fighting before, human punching bags.
I'd love for Monte to win for old times' sake: the man has been such a quality gatekeeper and minor player in the heavyweight scene for so long, it'd be nice if he could get one last big win on his resume before he retired. However, given the trouble Barrett has with active tall boxers and with swarmers, and given that Fields is an active tall swarmer who is much younger, factoring in that Barrett is many years past his prime, you have to suspect that Fields will win.
I think Fields will attempt, and may Possibly smoke him quick. Nothing against Barret who I will be routing for but Fields will be hard to reach for him and this is Fields chance to send shockwaves through the Heavyweight division by an early stopage of a regarded heavyweight. I hope that it plays out the opposite having Barret stop the fields hype machine with a display of Boxing skills and smarts.
