The video only covers the announcements. The fight isn't shown. Its scary how young Barry Tompkins and Larry Merchant look... And they weren't even THAT young then!!
My mate Ty was supposed to showcase his talents here as a warm up for fighting Gay Mike...this fight was on the undercard of Mikey v Bonecrusher.. Ty was 13-0 going into this having beaten Tillis Simms Snipes...he chose to brawl with Bey and got a bad cut...he fought back well to win...but his slot to fight Tyson went to Mr Pink because of the bad cut. TY then fought Lorenzo Boyd before fighting Tyson...the cut was terrible and should have been given way more time to heal. It opened up again in round 3 versus Mikey. Ty lacked power at the top level...but not courage. IMO his best effort was in defeat against Bowe. Ty's fall from grace was sad..he kicked drugs but had drink issues..he lacked self confidence . A great guy though...i have a signed fight ticket..fight programme and signed photo from him all relating to the Tyson fight...he now trains young kids in philly...but has little to show for his fights with Tyson lewis damiani bowe mason etc... He had a hell of a tough list of fights... Be beat a string of decent fighters..occssio and Marin also...but came up short at the top level . Still the last USA gold medal winner in the super heavy category. This fight v bey which is on youtube shows the best and worst of Tyrell....making hard work of a fight he shouldve taken care of more easily. Just as a footnote..i think Lou Duva did him no favours...in and out of the ring.
To answer the original question..if this were nowadays these guys would be top contenders and the fight classed as great entertainment....back then there were so many...these days you dont see fights like this...
