Dong? No way man. He's not that durable and Woodley already crushed him. Woodley cancels out Maias BJJ with his wrestling and makes it a boxing match.. Resulting in Maia likely getting KO'd early.

Yeah he's already beaten Dong, but he can still crack and if he hurts Woodley first it would be interesting.

It's fairly weak the division tbh.

Like most I scored the fight 3-2 to Wonderboy but it was a terrible fight because both guys were really fighting scared of each other. Woodley knows he doesn't have the overall striking to deal with Wonderboy and Wonderboy knows that Woodley could explode forward in a blitz and end him. The last rd wasn't enough for a 10-8 imo and the other 4 rds were very easy to score imo.

It will be a farkin travesty if Maia doesn't get the next title shot. Just watch the ufc now do Woodley-Nick Diaz for the belt. LOL I know but look at the other joke title fights they have been doing lately.

I've been reflecting on the division. Lawler ruining MacDonald in that war really changed the trajectory of things. I don't think anyone else in the division could out skill MacDonald, he was the complete package and had already beaten Woodley and Maia convincingly. Had MacDonald come out on top in that fight or avoided Lawler long enough for him to be beaten by someone else we would probably be looking at a very different WW picture right now. The wars of course caught up to Lawler as well, which left him ripe for taking. Actually thought Condit had done enough to beat him. The more I think about it.... Clear lineage or dominance has yet to be established at WW, but Woodleys scraped past his biggest threat twice now, so we'll probably see that established in his next couple of fights.

Think there's any merit in a third fight?

Both fights have looked like Thompson's for the taking but over 5 rounds he's such a passive fighter I'm not sure he would ever do enough to have 3 or more clear rounds.

First time round Woodley showed he could up a gear and finish strong, this time round Woodley never really had to leave second gear.

Such a lakclustre event, left me really disappointed.

Overeem vs Hunt was quality though.

Two weird ass fighters. I don't care to see a third fight, unless Thompson signs a contract stating that he will go after Woodley whole heartedly. What we learned from the two fights is that Thompson can win rounds when Woodley is inactive, but Thompson never really seems to go after Woodley with any real intent. We also learned that whenever Woodley decides to come forward and be aggressive, that he wins the round clearly, but only does that in two rounds max. Woodley doesn't have the gas tank to fight aggressive for five rounds, so he hangs back and fights in spurts. Thompson has some offensive skill, but fights too tentative. They can both go their separate ways.

Wonderboy is a pathetic boring pitter patter point fighter, always has been. The hypetrain behind him was ridiculous, he was promoted as some sort of improved version of Machida and people brought up some supposed 50-0 or something "kickboxing" record which actually consisted of some karate point fighting contests that no one cares about.

Too bad the judges didn't give him that gift, Maia would easily submit him and finally get his title. With Woodley it will be harder but it's doable.
