After a World Record 19 first round KO's against bums with mostly losing records (the exception being 8-1-2 James Morrow who is now 11-11-2 anyway), Middleweight hopeful Tyrone Brunson is exposed. Brunson was held to a six round majority draw by unheralded Antonio Soriano. I expected Brunson to be exposed when he stepped up but to be held to a fortunate draw by this type of journeyman !
The crowd were not pleased with the decision and applauded the game Soriano who they clearly thought was the winner. One of the judges had Brunson winning 58-56 however he was overruled by the other two judges who scored it 56-56.

i found this on brunson's website...

“If Tyrone Brunson can keep the knockouts coming, Brunson has the potential to be the biggest star in boxing history. While some may call it sacrilegious or think it premature to say so, Brunson could be bigger than all of boxing’s recent megastars, including Mike Tyson, Oscar Dela Hoya and Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

Not one of those legends accomplished Brunson’s feat —"Seventeen consecutive first round knockouts in Seventeen fights !!"

    :rofl :rofl :rofl

he can't even beat antonio soriano:patsch

nah. brunson clearly won the first 3 rounds. unfortunately hes been fighting 1 rounders for the last 3 years and couldn't keep it up almost getting KO'd in the second half of the fight.

the one 58-56 was actually given to brunson which would have been robbery had the other judges agreed,

Not good news at all for Brunson. His record of 19 straight first round ko's was good publicity for him but if he can't beat guys like this than we probably won't hear much more about him. Too bad because big punching middleweights are always good for boxing.

amen. it was shameful how Brunson made no attempt to prove his worth as a boxer or step up competition...he simply went for a sham record. It would be like Cal Ripkin pinch running every day to keep his consecutive games streak alive.

Much respect to guys like Soriano, though. Check out his last four fights - all against dudes with pretty big KO percentages that fight mostly journeymen. He's gone the distance with all of them, one was a draw, and one a majority decision. He's even been in the ring against the likes of Joel Julio early on in his career - conquerer in violent fashion of Cornelius Bundrage and owner of a decision victory over Ishe Smith.

He should go and tour with Butterbean.

I heav heard of this guy, and I have heard nothing but bad things about him. His record may look nice and shiny, but it's all built on tomato cans and the like. It doesn't at all shock me that he got exposed.

I' glad to read this. Brunson is an arrogant guy anyway, I see him at a lot of the local fights, he even gets introduced in the crowd like he's a celebrity. I'm real glad to read this.
