    Perea had last-minute visa issues before the Hrgović fight, apparently. :nusenuse: So, mystery solved, if anybody thought it strange to "duck" one dangerous HW prospect abroad just to a week later take on another.

    Wow, just read that Perea was actually substituted in only this past weekend. The originally scheduled opponent for Spong was 41 year old Brazilian glass cannon Pedro "Trojan" Otas.

    Perea is a HUGE upgrade.

    Spong's quite lean and lanky. At least he was the last time I used to watch him in the K-1/Glory days. Maybe he's filled out since then. I haven't really followed his boxing career too closely TBH.

    At any rate, yes, he's definitely a puncher. Weirdly some of the biggest punchers I've ever witnessed in any combat sport have come from kickboxing: Schilt, Mo Siligia, Le Banner, Hari etc. Must be all the ridiculous amounts of gear they're on. lol

    Schilt might be the hardest puncher ever. He's produced several KO's with jabs..... His timing, surprisingly good technique and the leverage he can get into his punches have produced some pretty brutal knockouts.

    I'm going to pass! :lol: Finances are a bit tight right now, and that's a pretty steep price for the quality of the card to begin with. $5-10 would be a fair price range. Anything above that is waaaay too steep.

    Especially if Perea, rather than coming in with the self-belief of having already been in camp for Hrgović, comes in knowing he is entering the lion's den with either defeatist mentality: that of a glorified sparring partner (giving us 10 dull rounds of tepid pursuit) or, if he's duly scared of Spong's power, seeking as quickly as possible to find a cushy spot on the canvas to flop onto the first time he's punched in anger (giving us a quick anticlimax worth not even fifteen cents, let alone bucks)
