Round 1

McCullagh is finding a home for the southpaw 1-2 outside, carefully skittering around the ring and sniping, letting his upper half fall in a bit when he punches. Kennedy is holding up his forearms like halberds and slicing himself a path inside, throwing right hands at the face but missing wide, his inner arm colliding with McCullagh's eye socket or the crook of his elbow catching around his throat like a snare. Body shots by Kennedy as McCullagh pushes down on his arms until the ref extricates them. Nice outside work by McCullagh once more, landing that southpaw 1-2, can't miss with the left cross when able to get full extension on it, breaking through Kennedy's guard with it.

Round 2

McCullagh is laying his right jab on the face and giving Kennedy a wide berth, catching him running in with a clobbering left on the nape. Kennedy is charging in, reining up short and teetering side to side and yet still attacking from the center. Kennedy's lunging jabs and hooks missing as McCullagh trots outward & laterally and keeps his head moving. Timely 1-2s and clinches by McCullagh.

30-27, too much clinching but the quality's from McCullagh.

 

40-36, McCullagh; Kennedy being absolutely schooled here. Pull-counter lefts from a crouch by McCullagh, bashing Kennedy's face up with his free hand while spinning when the other arm gets one trapped, and just making everything he throws miss by a mile.

 

50-45 McCullagh, doing his quick shuffling baby-step to lure Kennedy in and then firing a right jab feint to make Kennedy dive inside, where McCullagh can pound down on his scalp or wail roundabout on his sides with left hands while slipping the errant right hands and miscalculated left hooks of Kennedy.

 

60-54 McCullagh, careful movement, holding the right arm out fully extended to form a velvet rope through which Kennedy is unable to find passage. Everything he tries is thwarted by quick lateral shuffling and left hands raining on his sides, hip, and/or head. Kennedy still coming forward but accomplishing nothing.

 

70-63, Kennedy a glutton for punishment, insisting upon staying in McCullagh's chest or as near as possible even as the flesh is flayed off his mug by attrition with McCullagh jabbing him repeatedly with backfoot multiples and now sprinkling in some hooks as he passed by. Kennedy throwing hard rights from the hip, into the air, not reaching, leaving him vulnerable to counters.

 

80-72, the closest he's coming to scoring is with punches on the outer thigh while headbutting McCullagh in the diaphragm. Kennedy diving in, getting repelled and countered with solo left hand blasts and 1-2s as McCullagh just keeps moving & moving in that rapid spidery baby-shuffle.
