All those top guys from that era defeated eachother at one point or another. Atleast thats the way I remember it. And fellas like Le Banner, Hunt and Ignaschev and that french banlieue dude Abidi, could seriously compete with the big names. Didn't always win, but more often than not made for good fights. But again, thats the way I remember it, not fact per se
For me it went downhill the moment that lanky blonde giant started winning the competitions. Schiltz or something?
Semmy? Yeah, and they time Alistair and Spong were actually fighting that GP was so weak Aerts almost won it even though he was so old. I was happy for the kid, but it wasn't like when Peter was young. They had some stacked cards back in the day. I still follow Glory, but it's not near the same. Ricco's a good champion and all they just don't put on as good of shows. I'm gonna go watch some K-1.
Rob Kaman is the best Dutch kick boxer ever IMO Hoost is a legend too. Ignashov the biggest waste of talent ever.
Lol this thread got moved to the MMA forum, when it is about a legit heavyweight boxer in the current ranks. Anyways glad there's some K1 fans out here, bring back some nostalgia!
Yeah Ignashov has lots of potential but oh well, Badr should have won something too but he still turned out a great fighter thanks to Mike's Gym.
Spong has only fought second rated boxers so far. I hope he fight a decent name soon. I was a big K1-fan, because all of the Dutch (Bonjasky/Aerts/Overeem/Schilt) who were involved.
