A little birdie told me that current WBC Latino champ, Tyrone Spong, is defending his belt against Andy Ruiz jr come 21st December 2018.

There were calls for Spong to step up the competition, given his late entrance to the sport of boxing (but not fighting)... and I think this will be a good scrap.

Ruiz can bang... he might look fat... but he's got that Kownacki .. Miller-esque intensity and drive about him.

Tyrone Spong... well... he's new to boxing... but he's got speed, timing, precision and a lot of pop. Plus a ton of experience as a professional, elite fighter.

Gonna be a scrap!!! A Knockout is pretty much guaranteed.

Could be another Arreola Mitchell type of fight if you know what I mean.

I think they were looking at Spong for fury’s opponent before they went with pianeta

I should be excited for a fellow Dutchie (no, I'm not German!), but it's kinda meh for me. Boxing is kinda dead over here, and it's all about things like K1 and kickboxing instead.

Not sure I agree that Ruiz Jr can bang but he is a pretty useful fighter. I edged the Parker fight to him. Be cool if this fight gets made, will tell us much more about Spong

In three weeks? Where? There is no U.S. fight card on that day.

I thought Ruiz was shelved pending his legal battle with Arum?

Ruiz is very talented, especially for a big guy, it’ll be a easy night for him if he comes in shape, if not, I still favor Ruiz but it might be close. Fun fight and nice to see Spong moving up in competition!

Ruiz is a complete waste of talent and has wasted his career.

I would favour Ruiz Jr in an early KO victory in this one. I see its not official yet though.
