No, but because he was just walking forwards in straight line, the other fighters you mentioned were problem moving laterally more and trying to box, so wouldn`t have been hit as much as Mike, Tyson was all over the place when he fought these two and was pretty easy to hit compared to his prime, he was sitting duck and Douglas was on his best form, he was a very inconsistent fighter and puncher, he simply caught Tyson time and time again until he happened to land the best punch of his career, like Nunn v Kalambay.
You think Cooper was better than Tyson?! A prime Tyson would have looked far better v Cooper than Holy did.
I'm saying what Sangria is stressing, Cooper was clearly a bigger challenge towards Holyfield than Tyson was. He put it perfectly tbh.....
A prime Tyson would have finished Holy here if he had him in that kind of trouble, Holy`s defense was all over the place in this bout.
Holyfield proved he could take Tyson's shots, Mike just wouldn't get Evander in that sort of trouble to begin with.
Tyson was not a sitting duck in the holyfield fight. He showed flashes of his old self with good combinations and head movement. But he was never just walking through the shots and showing him no respect. I don't think you know what this expression means.
You don't actually believe any of this. You're just write childish nonsense to detract from possible discussions about the 6 times Tyson failed to go the distance.
The loose ropes in the Ali-Foreman fight are controversial. But a boxer is allowed to lean against the ropes while getting hit. If a boxer is knocked down and is held up by the ropes, (ie. he's sitting on the ropes or some other non-standing position) he is declared down. There are probably some borderline cases. Holyfield against Cooper was no such "borderline" case. He fell face first into the ropes and was held up by the bottom rope while facing the crowd. It shouldn't even be disputable. He was down. Hence the count for the knockdown.
WBC rules state : Knockdowns * There is no standing 8 count * There will be mandatory 8 count after a knockdown * If the ropes prevent a fighter going down, the referee will call it a knockdown IBF rules state : * a boxer is deemed down if ........ he is hanging helplessly over the ropes as the result of a legal blow as ruled by the referee, who is the only person authorized to determine this. * There will be a mandatory knockdown if one of the contestants is knocked off the soles of his feet or draped helplessly across the ropes. WBA rules state : * a boxer shall be considered "down" ...... ... or when he hangs helplessly over the ropes Holyfield was clearly in a helpless state hanging in the ropes when Mills called the knockdown. He was even facing the wrong way on the ropes .... LOL Definitely that would classified as "helplessly draped" !
I don't think those rules were in place 27 years ago. But, if they were, I stand corrected. Either way, I respect your opinion, and appreciate your well-reasoned follow up.
