I think people read too much into 'styles make fights' at times. Sometimes fighters can be so far apart in terms of quality that styles don't really mean much. Tyson has his prime in the 80s and would be giving up massive height and reach advantages against Wlad. Wlad would do what Lennox did, but probably a better job While he isn't throwing his uppercut he will be throwing his ATG standard jab, left hook or straight right instead
Wlad by late KO. Tyson at this point wasnt fast enough to get past Wlads jab. However Tyson would have small change in first two rounds and minimal punchers change after it.
Lewis/Tyson is on my 'never-to-watch-again'-list so I don't even remember how bad Mike was on that stage..
Pretty much. I remember Tyson said after the Lewis fight that Lewis hurt him early (uppercut I think), and kept him hurt. Not sure Wlad would do the same, but I think Tyson has to land a bit of a lucky shot early to have a chance. I think Wlad wins this. Tyson didn't have much left in the tank at all at this time. He landed a few shots against Lewis, but nothing to write home about. Lewis was past his best by this time too IMO. I don't think anyone seriously rates this as being one of Lewis best wins, more one that he really had to do before his career was over. It was far more about money than who was the best. (Lewis is older than Tyson too remember). It was a great, great fight for anyone that objectively looked at the fight to bet on it. I made a bit of money from the "Tyson's gunna kill him in the first round, Mike is BACK" crowd. (you know the "if tyson got back in shape he'd...." crowd).
Is it the same ref from the Lewis/Tyson fight? Because he made Lewis stop holding. I don't know how Wlad would react to a ref telling him not to hold! Lewis hurt Tyson in the 1st round with an uppercut. That put the fear in Mike. Wald doesn't have that, but he'd just clinch until Tyson got tired and gave up. So unless 2002 Tyson lands something really early, he most likely loses.
He didn't quit against Lewis whose bombs he tasted for 8 rounds yet he will quit against a lesser fighter in Wladimir Klitschko? Sychophanting at its worst
