There was a thread a while back where I mentioned this video and people were asking to see it. I couldn't find it at the time, as Yahoo had changed the location of it and it didn't show up. I stumbled across it last night and figured I'd share. His account is a bit different from Atlas' account.

Its nice to hear stuff from Tyson thats often talked about by other people but not Tyson himself.

If i ever had an oppurtunity to question him, id ask him what he thought of his chances against Bowe, Foreman, Moorer, Mercer, Biggs and Tua. But knowing him, he would probably twist the answer around and tell me some bull****. He has a habit of twisting things and not answering questions clearly

I've been looking for this video since it was posted a few months ago. Thanks for sharing.

It's funny but I never heard Tyson's side of the story till this video came out.

Interesting. Typical, Teddy Atlas' storys always get refuted by those on the other end. Like the Lalonde story. He said in his book that he had a gun and was going to Lalondes apartment to kill. Lalonde came out immediately calling bull**** saying that he didnt even live in the apartment Teddy described when that supposedly happened. I think Tyson nails Teddy here, he really wants to look like some head shrink tough guy. Hes not. Hes a liar and a self promoter who has spent his career bashing a guy who is the only reason why we know who Teddy is.

In fantasy matchups Tyson always says anything can happen in a fight, you never know. He says that in matches pertaining to himself, and even other fights. He never predicts fantasy matchups. When it comes to when people ask if he could beat Ali or Louis, he just says you never know, I'm just happy to be mentioned in the same breath as those guys.

I can tell you that he would beat all of those guys with Bowe being the toughest fight.

What do you mean by "Biggs?" Are you talking about Tyrell Biggs that he knocked out?

I think he meant Shannon Briggs.

Sorry i meant BRIGGS, these are some of the guys he could have/should have fought after prison but didnt. Wins over these guys would h\ve done it for him, better than Norris, Savarese and Francis (FFS)

Bowe would have been the toughest fight no doubt, but i wanna know what he though of Bowe and whether or not he would have beaten him. I reckon Tyson had a better chance against Bowe after prison and a better chance agains Holyfield pre prison.

"Ruddock" Tyson vs Bowe 92 would have been crazy!

Ruddock Tyson was lacking everything that made 88 Tyson so special... He didn't train hard, he wasn't sharp, etc... Watch his fight against Frank Bruno and watch how limited he looks in 89. He was still a great fighter but by that point any great fighter such as Bowe would have been very tough. I think he would have knocked Shannon Briggs out as easily as he did Golata and Savarese.

I would have loved to see Tyson vs Briggs.....who gasses first!!!

I know 91 Tyson was nothing like Tyson of old, however realistically Tyson and Bowe could have fought in 91 and/or 96ish....

Even a '99 Tyson (Botha fight) proved better stamina than Peak Briggs, when in a proper fight.

When really working hard, a '98 Peak Briggs had only 3 rounds of stamina! :rofl

Against Old Foreman, when Briggs started to gass, he switched to lazy survival mode, & got a gift decision, so that doesn't show real stamina at all.

I think there's some truth by both sides. I have no doubt that Atlas was a bit jealous of all of the new attention that Mike was getting when he used to be the one getting the attention, but at the same time Mike was most likely getting into trouble and Cus was covering it up and it pissed off Teddy that there was a big double standard. Atlas mentions in his book how Cus was making acceptions for Mike's behavior but nobody else's.

I do believe that he came home one day and found Mike had tried to do things with Teddy's niece that she did not like and that Teddy went out and made sure it never happened again. I think he went to the extremes that he did because he knew:
    A) Even though Mike was like 15 or 16 years old, he was stronger than and could take most people who were in their 30s. He was no average teenager physically at all.
    B) That Cus wasn't going to do anything about it anyway.
    C) It was just going to continue if he didn't do something drastic
    D) He was already very upset with Mike's behavior and wanted to send a very strong message to Cus and Mike.
