Douglas would have KO'd any fighter dishing the punishment he did against Tyson. Tyson basically quit against McBride and Williams hardly a barometer of how good his chin was. Holyfield didnt get him off his feet either. Tyson had a great chin, far better than Fraziers.

Fraziers chin gets overrated based on his wars with Ali, who wasnt a very hard puncher

Tyson had the ability to absolve more punishment

Compare Tysons fight against the hardest puncher he fought (Ruddock) and to frazier against Foreman

Im not saying Ruddock punches harder than Foreman or anything. Tyson could simply take more punishment than frazier and had a better chin. Heart is hard to determine.

What would frazier do against Douglas, Holyfield and Lewis?

Tysons got no heart and courage because he got the **** beaten out of him by Douglas , Holyfield and Lewis. Fraziers got heart because he went tto hell and back with Ali (who, doesnt really hit that hard)

Cus De Amato: 'what if Frazier does this' - De Amato bobs and weaves, throws some punches that would have land if it was full contact

Muhammad Ali: 'Joe Frazier can't do that, he isn't that good, he isn't as good as you Cus'

They had similar stature and thats it. They didn't have close to the same style.

    Tyson had a great chin

they are very different..the real question would be who had the best left hook?

Frazier more bob and weave, some shoulder slipping and prefered to lead with his left hook, especially to the body early.

Tyson more shoulder slipping side to side and threw more straight rights than Frazier.

    Both were very good bodypunchers.

As well as all the points mentioned,Frazier was at his most effective at short range. Tyson mainly so at medium range.

I was going to reply, but since the responses have seemed to meke general forum users look articulate and informed...I figured why bother!

Haters, hugers and agenda driven trolls...I miss when we used to be able to discuss this stuff ina rational way that would actually enlighten most of us!

    Classic is getting pathetic!

Frazier was more agresive and always kept comming forward.Tyson had better speed, better footwork but not that agressive.Frazier was more onedimensional fighter,go to the body and left hook but was more determined than Tyson. For example his first fight with Quarry. It was war, slugfest and Frazier took many hard punches but he never gave up and he won.Tyson had better tools than Frazier and I think more power and of course better combinations,of course I am talking about young Tyson 1985-1988.
