I think you overrate his resume a little bit. Before Morales beat daniel zaragoza, he fought taxi driver bums. I think he had like one ranked win before he fought zaragoza, then he beat a 40 year old past his prime great fighter.

So eric's legacy is that he beat a 40 year old zaragoza and went 2/6 against barrera and pacquiao, bravo to him.

So the fighters that erik morales actually got the best of were carlos hernandez, kevin kelley, paulie ayala, jesus chavez, and junior jones. Not one of these guys is likely going into the international boxing hall of fame. Guess what, klitsckho is. If these guys were heavyweights, they would just be contenders or alphabeat champs, dont act like they would be tyson, holmes, holyfield or klitskcho

Erik Morales holds wins over such guys as Marco Antonio Barrera, Manny Pacquiao, Junior Jones, Carlos Hernandez, Jesus Chavez, Daniel Zaragoza, Paulie Ayala, and In Jin Chi.

His legacy is that he defeated two of the best fighters of his era, and won titles in three separate weight divisions whilst never ducking out of a challenge and always giving entertaining fights.

One of the greatest Mexican fighters and Super Bantamweights the world has ever seen.

He holds a win over a 40 year old zaragoza, dont try and change that. So what if he beat junior jones, carlos hernandez, jesus chavez and paulie ayal. If they were heavyweights, they would be alphabeat champs, nothing more. If you think any of those guys would be all time greats at heavyweight, then you are clueless. The best fighters he fought beat him more then he beat them. Vitali Klitchkho will make the ibhof when he retires, the guys you mentioned wont.

Go back to watching Heavyweight boxing, I'll continue to enjoy every aspect of this beautiful sport.

Manny Pacquiao and Marco Antonio Barrera are first ballot HOF's and certified ATG's.

Yeah and they got the best of erik morales. By the way i checked the database and Lennox Lewis beat more ranked fighters than erik morales.

From 1993-2000, erik morales basically beat shot zaragoza, junior jones(whose only relevant cuz he beat barrera), a split decision over barrera, kevin kelley and the rest are all cabdrivers. While Lewis was fighting the likes of Tony Tucker, Donovan Ruddock, Frank Bruno at the beginning of his career, not cab drivers with **** wins. If anyone padded his resume, its morales, not lewis.

I wouldnt necesarily rate Vitali over Junior Jones and Paulie Ayala. Probably about on par with each other.

Tua is on the same level as ayala or junior jones, i dont think they are better than him either. I would say tua is probably more famous than them and bigger threat because hes a slugger.

No way Paulie beat future HOF Tapia twice,Bredahl,Bones Adams both Champions he was also a borderline top 10 PFP guy at one time too, Tua never came close. Tuas only bigwins was an after the bell ko over Rahman, and John Ruiz. I dont count his ko over a washed up Moorer.

Of course he wasn't WORLD champ, Lewis was.Him not winning an abc belt is irrelevant, those dont mean anything, but it seems like you love to put alot of stock into meaningless abc belts.

Marco Antonio Barrera beat Daniel Jiminez and Richie Wenton for the 122lbs belts. Admittedly, they weren't great scalps, but he did fight and defeat Kennedy Mckinney during his first title reign and he was practically the best guy at Junior Featherweight at the time along with Jones, a man he'd later go on to stop in 4 rounds. By all accounts, Barrera also deserved to unify the division when he wasn't given the decision in the first Morales fight. In conclusion, Barrera fought Mckinney, Morales, and Jones at 122lbs. All the top guys.

Marco Antonio fought Naseem Hamed, Erik Morales, the two top guys at 126lbs at the time. Hamed was favored by 4-1, and Barrera dominated him thoroughly. Barrera unified and essentially became the Ring champion and "the man" at 126lbs when he defeated Erik Morales in 2002. His only loss at the weight was to Manny Pacquiao, who is now campaigning and destroying folks at 147lbs. In conclusion, Barrera fought everyone relevant at 126lbs. Tapia also held a strap was considered top 3 in the world when Barrera defeated him lopsidedly.

At Super Featherweight, Erik Morales was pretty much considered the best fighter there having defeated Hernandez and Chavez with relative ease. Marco Antonio Barrera in his first fight at 130lbs, defeated Morales in a fight that most observers consider the clearest decision of the trilogy. He then notched up quality wins over Robbie Peden and Rocky Jaurez before losing to Juan Manuel Marquez, who was also among the best at 130lbs.

...Barrera fought practically everybody. Don't give me that ABC bull****.

Paulie was the premiere champ at JF when he beat Bones and Tapia. Even at Bantam he was arguably the top man there.

    Is it that hilarious?
