If my memory's anything beyond half-mast, then Tszyu is in the the same category as them. I think that the old timer category stipulates that the fighter in question has to have fought their last fight prior to something like 1942, which puts Garcia and Overlin just inside the modern category and Archer, with the early 60's being his heyday, well inside it.
Don't get me wrong btw - Kostya was one of my favourite fighters when he was active, nor is it his fault that the voting board picked him over some of the others who are more than deserving and have been overdue for years.

Ah, didn't know that Tin Ribs. I guess its a tough call in that older fighters must be due their induction after such a long time but that there are modern fighters who have achieved more?

No doubt mate, it's never an easy call. Tszyu did very well for his time though, being very dominant over an average sort of crop with those two good title reigns. Obviously Overlin, Garcia and the like weren't quite as dominant in their own era, but with the times and comp being much tougher. Take somebody like Cocoa Kid for instance. Any man who beats Holman Williams 8 times out of 11 as well as Eddie Booker, Young Peter Jackson, Chalky Wright and draws with Charley Burley is a bit more deserving than most despite the number of accrued losses.
I'm glad that Tszyu beat that little shite hawk Hamed in though.:D

LOL!! Not a Hamed fan eh?

Yep, I follow the history of the sport so I know that Zoo losing less fights than Cocoa Kid isn't a valid comparison but when you're comparing Zoo and Garcia or Zoo and Archer then its a tricky pick over who, and when, should get voted into the HOF.

    er...IMHO!!!!

Nah, not a Hamed fan especially. The flying carpet was the final straw.

Btw, I hope I've not come across as condescending or anything. I've read through a few of your other posts and you seem like one of the best posters on the brit forum.
