Tyson could have fought at cruiserweight.

don't sink down to this level jazzo. i know why you're doing it, but it just makes you look stupid. you know aswell as everybody on here that tyson had no hell in chance in making the cruiserweight limit at that time, so what's the point in making a topic about it?

    OK.

    For noobs.

This was a very popular story a couple of years ago on ESB. It goes like this.

Tyson got paranoid and thought that someone would poison him so he ate nothing but tinned food and ran several miles every day on the running track.

When he got out he was "little more than a cruiserweight" according to some sources. Remember that the limit back then was 190.

Anyway, it got some guys ****really hot****

Its not out of the question that he could have dropped below 195 in those days, making what was THEN the cruiserweight limit, but frankly I'm not sure that it would have behooved him to do so.. He was naturally a stocky muscular figure with a thick skeletal frame, and had he dropped the necessary 25 lbs or so to make the limit, would likely have been drained.. Of course, I can't fathom him losing to some of the top men in the division at the time, ie. Deleon, Wamba, Tillman, an aging Qawi, etc.... Evander probably would have torn a weight drained Tyson apart at that class though..

To add to the story, the E-Social workers blamed his "artificial" weight gain (as opposed to him being natural before starving himself) to him losing his edge.

I totally agree. To thick to be at 200. And why would have wanted to. CW champ or HW champ?. Easy pick!

He is now...but not at the start of his career....had they focused Mike on being a crusier weight Mike would have been a crusier weight but Cus had his sights set on the NEXT youngest HW champ of the world and so we have Mike Tyson....the present youngest HW champ in the world at the moment.

Tyson was a normal sized heavy back in the day. They weren't all fat-asses like they are today.

He may have had thick thighs but he ankles were like toothpicks, which is ironic.
