  1. Ali did hs prio debut in 1960 and he won the title in 1964.
Joe louis did his pro debut in 1934 and he won the title in 1937.
Marciano did his pro debut in 1947 and he won the title in 1952.
Frazier did his pro debut in 1965 and he won the title in 1968.
Foreman did his pro debut in 1969 and he won the title in 1973. Really tyson did not win the belt against a great fighter(he faced who had the title, simple) but still he did a great thing, do you think that anyone can be the hw champ with less age of 20 years old? I doubt it seriously.
I watched again and again the first round of lewis vs tyson, and i think that a prime tyson would have demolished lewis

If the heavyweight division was a bit tighter, Tyson would not have won in 1986.

Thing is what heavyweights are fully developed at such a young age? that was a massive part of him being so successful at 20 years old.

And would you say that it also meant that he burnt out or at the very least, passed his prime equally as fast?

Not really because developing physically earlier doesn't mean you're going to burn out earlier.

The other side of the coin is he also lost the title at the earliest age. And that's at an age when most guys are at their absolute best with reflexes.

Leon Spinks began in January '77 and won the title in February 78. If someone have enough talent I think it's possible that one day, someone might win the (or one belt) title under 20

Well he lost the title because he fought a vastly superior fighter on the night who had the size, style and skills to defeat him. Tyson didn't look to shabby the fight prior to Douglas when destroying Carl Williams.

Tyson was a genetic freak, no question. A fully grown man at the age of 12, knocking out pro heavyweights at the age of 13. Once in a lifetime performer.

I know his first pro opponent. He's about 5'6, no joke.

What he did was incredible, regardless of what one thinks of his short lived prime or his opposition. He was a teenager when he turned pro.. A somewhat small heavyweight for the period he fought in.. A troubled youth who wasn't supposed to have a future of any kind.. And within A year and a half of hitting the pros, rocked the boxing world. He makes my top 10

Probably even more incredible is that he's reach almost 50 years old (where the hell did all the years go?) and he's not dead or in jail. At the moment his life is probably as stable as its ever been and who would have predicted that?

Why? Were Ferguson,Green,M. Frazier,Ribalta Berbick and later Smith,Thomas,Tucker,Biggs,Holmes,Tubbs,Spinks,Bruno,C. Williams
total inexperienced midgets against him ? Tyson beat these fighters
    when he was very young.
Otherwise Tyson wasn't fully developed by skill or experience.
For example Berbick or Smith were much more experienced than
Tyson or in 1984 Biggs was much more better fighter than the
17-18 years old verson Mike T.

Especially James Smith's body/figure was incredible "childish" against Tyson.Shame.
