Maybe you are right. But then there is a reason. Can you imagine in the 1980s if Hagler and Hearns and Duran and Leonard did not fight each other and guys like Patterson and Lamotta fought in exhibitions? It would have been a joke.
It hurts boxing how? And neither RJJ or Tyson are some fat slobs. Boxing is just a sport. And if everyone fought only to be the best in the world, then we would have very few boxers at all.
Mike es un gran boxeador .. debe ser un tipo difícil de tratar pero es bastante agradable verlo en la televisión
It hurts boxing. It makes it a show and not a sport. Neither guy has looked good when they last fought. We need to see the best in boxing, not old guys in their 50's fighting.
Boxing is already more of a show than a legitimate sport, it's one of the most in your face corrupt businesses you'll see, you must already know this from following it for years so your idealistic view of the sport is rather odd.
Yeah, I remember when Mike Tyson married Robin Givens and that story was more than the boxing story. I almost refused to watch anything on that. I didn't like that drama. I wanted to see fights and to see him focus on that, but once he retired I don't want to see him again. Even if he did have a burst of energy to get in shape and make a video of himself hitting mitts. I want to see Tyson Fury and Joshua and Wilder and the young guys now. There are not many good fighters now like Mike Tyson and Roy Jones era, so that is lacking moreso.
Boxing like jabbing, touching, dancing, moving was never Mike's thing, it's either get of there early or be in for a long night
It's a very sad state of affairs for boxing. Jones giving up previous respect to keep making more money and getting knocked cold, and Tyson that despicable (in/out the ring) animal even being allowed near a ring. A couple of relics attention seeking.
Old legends, doing an exhibition. Not, you know, actually competing. In no way does this hurt boxing at all. These shitty Top Rank cards hurt boxing. The sport has absolutely nothing going for it at the moment.
12oz gloves, no head guards, both saying they'll knock the other out. It's silly. Hagler was considered old and shot at 29. These relics are double that.
These guys are getting hit when they do exhibitions. If they really go at it they are getting rocked. This gives older guys ideas instead of young guys fighting. I have no interest in seeing Mike Tyson fight now after how he looked in 2005 and 2006 was it? And Jones? Losing Macarelli. Enzo has a punch, but this fight makes no sense.
