Then why do it? If it is not real why do it? We need real quality boxing. Not Chavez fighting Virgil Hill or something.

 How are Jones and Tyson responsible for Top Rank giving us **** cards? Or for others doing barely anything?
Those two are doing this for themselves.
Tyson and Jones want to do it. They want that sweet taste once more. But since they know their place, they are doing it right, meaning an exhibition.
It´s all just for the fun of it. Why even spar in a gym if you won´t compete as a pro or an amateur? For the fun of it.

And there is a lot of money to be made. Supposedly Tyson is giving his share to charity.

Exhibition is still getting hit. For the fun of it and charging PPV? It is a Floyd Mayweather rip off of the public. I want boxing to do well. I don't think this helps boxing. Jones is too small for Mike. If Mike wants a challenge then fight Shannon Briggs, someone like that . Butterbean.

Everyone is talking about it. It is good for boxing. Nothing else has gotten boxing this much attention this year.
And it is not about actual competition. It just for the fun of it.
But now you want Tyson to challenge himself? Wtf?

Just let them have their fun. Let that sweet nostalgia do it´s thing. And those who want to, they can pay for the event. And again, it´s not even promoted as an actual fight.

Did you ***** and moan as much about the recent Seniesa Estrada vs Miranda Adkins debacle?
Or when Jarrell Miller butcherd Adamek?
How about Danny Garcia vs Brandon Rios?

If he is going to do this exhibition stuff why take on a smaller guy like Jones who was knocked out a few times? The way Tyson looked his last two fights, he should not be fighting anyone. I saw his whole career. How much fun do they want to have? Silly fights like this for a year or two? And what about normal boxing? The sport itself. I think if Tyson fought Briggs and struggled he would not want to do it anymore. Jones is a little too small.

No,, that is boxing now. Mismatches happened even in the 1980s. Look at Honeyghan vs. Hatcher. That was a quick knockout. I don't want to see Tyson against anyone to be honest. I saw him fight on and lose to Williams and McBride. Now people are saying he can become undisputed champion. If he wins these silly fights or look good somehow they will think he can win. So he somehow healed and is motivated now.. What do you think happens when he goes a few rounds now? He will get tired and become a punching bag again. He will look ok the first couple of rounds.

This is what I am afraid of. I don't think it is a fair fight as far as size. Tyson just has to go to the body and then go upstairs. Roy doesn't need anymore punches to the head... No one does at that age. And then I am afraid Hearns or Leonard will come back, and they are in their 60's. Why take punches at that age where it hurts them more. It is not the same.

They are more or less the same size. Tyson was a really small HW

No they are not the same size. If Tyson puts on the pressure for 2 rounds Jones can be hurt to the body and go down.. Then again if Tyson gets tired then things could change in round 3 or 4.. Either way, what is the point?

Yeah, I think more than a few people may be surprised when it turns out to literally be a sporting exhibition

Maybe. I saw them fight their era and get old. I don't see the point in this. It takes away from real fighters now.

Not all old guys would be bankable though. I think that would weed out a lot of them. Only the really name guys would be able to pull off something like this.

In other sports... there's been the XFL and AFL, there's the Big 3 league for basketball, in golf they have the Senior Tour, etc... none of the guys competing at those levels, takes away from the highest level of their respective sport.

Fans are obviously willing to pay, they obviously enjoy themselves and the competition, otherwise those leagues simply wouldn't exist.
