He should have been "prime" but he wasn't. At 24, he should have actually been more towards his best but he wasn't. In order to be at your best you have to continually train and prepare for it. He didn't.
He declined. There is no debating that. Trainers and Fighters point to that. I put up an article as an example.

    Question:

Does any version of Mike Tyson AFTER Kevin Rooney beat the version Rooney trained from Berbick through Spinks?

Case in point. Damn, look at the shoulders on Buddy! If the zen master Phil Jackson gains weight that's what he looks like.

The guys blonde batman mentioned certainly do not look that much better than Baer here. A few have good skills, like Helenius, but haven't done ****. I understand if someone other than the Klits can dominate and have a string of impressive wins but you don't see that in any division anymore, especially at heavyweight.

Yes, it is very possible that the Tyson during his first year of his return to boxing after prison may have been able to do. Keep in mind, Tyson was able to knock out Bruno faster the 2nd time around.

To add on to my comment from 2 years ago: The fact that Tyson was able to knock out Bruno faster the 2nd time around (than he did during his "supposed" prime) proves that Tyson was still a very good boxer in 1996.
