XXI Century, people still doesn't knows the importance of the mental health just because 40 minutes of entertainment, i don't like Fury and it sucks for Wladimir, but if the man feels he needs help, it's good that he realized that before it was too late, i hope he gets out of whatever issue he is in.

There must be people on here with mental health issues (that wasn't a dig or joke) or maybe had mental health issues in the past or have relatives or friends with mental health issues so the lack of empathy and sympathy has actually surprised me.

I'm not a fan of Fury, I don't like the things he says and I don't like the way he conducts himself sometimes but maybe these mental health issues might have had something to do with the things he has said in the past and the way he sometimes conducts himself and they may now have come to the surface.

I do understand boxing fans frustrations, I am a boxing fan and I am also frustrated and I do understand as harsh as it sounds that boxing is a business and other fighters deserve a chance to earn money fighting for those titles/belts if Fury can't or won't and maybe Fury should do the right thing and vacate the lot and go and get the treatment he obviously needs but the personal insults aimed towards Fury at this moment in time are disgusting and out of order in my opinion and have to stop.

Based on statements Fury has made, my theory is that he is an alcoholic, which of course makes depression worse and screws a lot of other things up, too.

Fury never wanted to fight Vlad again, in the rematch he was going to get knocked out and he knew it. Fury was afraid of the rematch, he should be stripped and a rematch be set later, only this time if he ducks out he should be banned.................

I'm not buying "muh feels" or "mental health" or any of that ****. I think he's deep into a bender with his buddies and is unwilling to halt the party train and get back to business and all this hand-wringing is his handlers trying to cover. Will he run out of money anytime soon?

I hope people don't turn this into a troll fest.... yes he has pulled out twice now but the guy clearly needs some help at the moment.

He sees himself as a comedian and probably deep down wants to be liked by all, I think he is a top quality boxer and being in the limelight isn't good for him, he was not ready for the responsibility of being the champion...

I think he will have to vacate the belts have a year away from everything and come back a better fighter and better man, worried for him because he could go off the rails..

if he realized that then why doesn't he vacate the belts officially? Instead he's holding an entire division hostage with this charade, he's peeing on our sport.

Can't believe some of you guys would rather believe a convicted drug dealer than the UK doping agency.

All this mental health stuff is just total BS. It is just a last minute desperate effort to salvage what ever is left from these twos careers. Damage limitation. Throw a red herring in there, hope people are stupid enough to believe it and see if they can get enough support and sympathy to make the rest go away.

Seems that plenty of you are.

I bet you that Hopkins career from 39 until his retirement will be far superior to what Wlad achieves.

A lot of fans have gone overboard on the achievement. I didn't see it coming as I didn't think Fury had it in him to be competitive with even this shot version of Wlad but with hindsight the writing was on the wall for his career when he turned in an awful performance against the utterly rubbish Jennings.

People are different. Imagine you just won the lineal Heavyweight championship over a dominant ATG. You have achieved your ultimate dream and have £20million in the bank. If he retired today, he already achieved everything he wanted from boxing.
Wlad wants a rematch but Fury just isn't motivated enough to fight Wlad anymore, he got the validation he wanted. He wouldn't have enough motivation to train effectively and be as mentally disciplined the first time to have a chance of beating Wlad again. There's nothing for him to train and fight for.

I understand it completely from that perspective. Wlad is unfortunately being persistent when he's an old man who should just hang it up. Fury would probably regain his momentum if he takes a few easier fights and then goes for Joshua. That's what he wants. If he's not getting that in boxing, then what on earth is the point?

So you're saying if Fury was allowed to cherrypick his opponents he'd be in a better state of mind? And you have sympathy for such nonsense? How on earth do you dare to call yourself a boxing fan!

If Fury can't handle the pressure of boxing, the pressure of being a professional then he should have retired right after beating Wlad. What he's doing now is holding an entire division hostage with his antics. This is the sport we love and Fury is puking all over it.
