So, one year after Mike was humbled by the The Lion, he shows up to the Clifford Etienne fight looking like this:

    Pretty bad ass.
He's in great shape and clearly at his lowest weight since his first comeback.

So the question is: "Does it change the outcome?"

I'm going to argue "no" because Lewise was still so much better at that point, but perhaps the better conditioned Mike gives a few more tough rounds and because he can throw more punches, longer, might catch Double L at some point early.

    Whaddya guys think?

He was still a long way past his best. Although if he was game, he could take Lewis the distance. But that is unlikely.

Being lighter and a bit quicker might make him slightly more elusive but at best he lasts a couple more rounds before being stopped, maybe not even that.

Absolutely not. Ettienne could be an entertaining fighter, but he wasn't anything ever. He had a 'glass temple' as evient fro his fight w/ Oquendo and Botha.

He would be stopped earlier by Lewis.

Had Tyson got with Roach much earlier, around 99/00 when he got with Tommy Brooks then I think that may have made a difference.
He got Mike working the left hand rather than just single right hand bombs.

The Tyson by the time he fought Lewis/ Ettienne was horrible. Timing/balance and quickness all badly erroded, and I dont think any Tyson performance after the Bruno 2 fight would have beaten Lewis.

Very ******ed question, and I'm Tyson's biggest fan. There'd be zero differance.

Tyson doesnt beat Lewis anytime after 97.

If they had fought around 96-ish, I think Tyson would have won.

The pre-prison Tyson destroys Lewis no doubt in my mind.

It's entirely unclear how good Tyson was against Etienne. First, the Etienne knockout looked dodgy, but OK, let's say it was real. That fight lasted mere seconds. We have no idea what would have happened had he survived the initial barrage.

Isn't this the fight he claimed he broke his back?
