It's all relative. Considering the shape Fury's been in the past, this looks like good news because he looks a lot leaner by his standards. Besides, appearances can be deceptive. Joe Calzaghe didn't have stamina issues and he had no six pack. He was soft looking. James Toney is another one who even when he was fat had better stamina than some of these bodybuilder types who are all show and no go.

David Haye had the body of a Greek god, but was blowing out his arse very quickly. Its not just stamina though, it means little in terms of strength too. Chiselled bodybuilders will get owned by fat powerlifters with a gut, and soft looking Brandon Rios is a strong lad.

Big muscles need more oxygen, strong conditioned muscles dont!

Soccer AM was always shite, you were probably just immature enough to like it in its earlier days.

A lot of that depends on whether you have a lot of fast twitch muscle fibres (which have less oxygen utilisation) or not. It's not strictly big muscles=poor stamina while small muscles=good stamina. Plenty of boxers that were built like tanks but had a good engine.

However, my point is that it's not necessary to have ridiculously low bodyfat and chiselled abs as it has little to do with performance. As long as Fury is not overweight and is able to perform for 12 rounds, then IMO he's in great shape.

    EDIT:

misread your post earlier. Not sure what you were saying.

I didnt want to go into detail about muscles cos I dont know enough.

But I know that bigger muscles require more oxygen to perform over a long period of time. Boxing training is generally to condition the muscles to last a long time which usually means they dont get huge.

I think I know what Im saying probably just not saying it very well! :nut

    Is Fury 'only' 6'7??

If that is the case having seen photos of Tyson next to Wlad ... that would mean Wlad is 6'4 and Vitali 6'5.

And David Haye is 6 foot.

    And Chisora is 5'11

    I'm confused!
