First fight pretty much shows how your meant to deal with an andy ruiz type. As opposed to joshuas hit and run away for dear life approach. Surprised mick hennessey was able to sign fury up looked talented enough to get signed up with one of the big promoters. Suppose mick was pretty big at one time tbf.
Fury went to see lots of promoters. Barry Hearn included who was and I quote "pissed as a fart talking nonsense" Frank Maloney "Talking rajness" & didn't pay for the chinese here: This content is protected Went over to Ireland to spar Mike Perez in front of Mick and made him quit on the second day Mick Hennesey actually has to be given lots of credit for getting Fury decent fights like McDermott early.
Yeah defo. Hennesey done well with fury. Surprised no sign of warren in there...seems that furys talent flew under the radar a bit. Wasnt all that surprised when i first seen his pro fights...always looked like he had potential but didnt think he,d get anywhere near the level he has. But looking back at them amatuer fights...seems he always had great potential. Always thought perez was with mcguigan. Remember them having 3 cubans at one point. Assumed mike perez was in that 3.
Wow, nice find Imagine thinking back then that in a few years that fat blob was gonna become the best heavyweight in the division
What? Joshua traded with Ruiz in the first fight and got blitzed. And it´s not like Fury wasn´t on his bike there at all. And then there was the holding. We all knew that Joshua could not stand in front of Ruiz. And many predicted that even if he tried to hit and run, then wouldn´t be able to do so for 12 rounds. Yes, Joshua could have been more authoritative and he should have set up more power punches. But 6 months prior he got just beaten down by Ruiz. Joshua had the perfect gameplan, it worked and you are talking out of your ass. And no, I am not some Joshua fanboy. I more often than not root against him.
Btw, did he actually donate the money he got for the first Wilder fight? I heard all the praise about him going to do so, but nothing after the fight.
Media took something Fury said and turned it into "Fury donates entire purse to charity" which is NOT what Fury said. Fury was having a casual interview and he said money didn't matter to him, he'd rather give it to charity. Then the media follow up scrum trying to make him out to be a do-gooder and give him pats on the back which Fury tried to get away from because again what he does with his money is nobodies business. Addressing social issues is never easy as "building homes for the homeless" and "giving money". I think Fury understands that statement specifically was quite loose and he probably shouldn't have said it. & here is my own personal view, many charities anyway are an outright scam. Money gets squandered. Being hands off and throwing money at a situation isn't going to help.
