I would be shocked if he retired before fighting AJ. It's moderate risk and high reward.

I honestly believe Fury will retire in the new year. If I'm wrong I'll hold my hands up like I always do.

But I think he'll go in to camp, it won't go well and he will abruptly announce his retirement. He is starting to look frayed and Usyk is a real live dangerous opponent, he got his pension padded with that clown show the other week and his image and legacy will mean more to him than another payday and real possibility of defeat,

Fury has been a inspirational story for many, we've had some memorable moments buts it's coming to an end

And I'll be gaying it into Bolivian, and standing by to do the same whenever he makes another.

I think he could retire if he won, but it would get a huge backlash and still be considered a duck if the rematch clause is there. Taking his ball and going home type thing.
He needs to fight Usyk twice to get the credit, especially since he didn't take the Wlad rematch.

And to think miniq used to be a top tier troll. This is ban worthy.

I do not share your opinion , especially since wilder was nominated at next opponent and usyk had every possibility to choose wilder for his mandatory .

Next thing is i think you are naive when you believe the highly promoted usyk fights for pure legacy without financial and political-career motivations .

Whatever - i respect your opinion and i guess no need to argue since it would go back and forth even when some facts are on the table .

Sad only such a cheater has such a radical fanbase here

Understandable. Usyk has beaten any sense out of him too, without even stepping in the ring against Fury.

The man is a smiling assassin indeed, ending the careers of weak paper champions and delusional internet trolls alike.

You are funny. We need this type of Fury fan trolling after the rapid decline of miniq, keep it up.

You can see him winning controversially against Usyk, and retiring. Similar to Lennox. Then he'll get called out for the next few years and nothing will happen, like Lennox

    That's not what happened though.

There is nothing controversial about winning by TKO and causing cuts and injuries that need some 60 stitches and multiple surgeries. Also, there's nothing controversial about the no rematch thing either. It's just that most people don't know what happened. Both Manny Steward and Vitali confirmed that even though Lewis was keen on the idea of a rematch, the "two Violets in his life" (his mother and then-girlfriend, later wife and mother of his children, both are called Violet, interestingly enough) forbid him to carry on fighting.

If you know anything about Lewis, then you know he was a real mama's boy in. sense. His mother was his number one fan, she was there in all his camps, and even cooked all his meals all through his career. Lewis never did anything in his career without his mother's approval. His mother's influence on his career was apparent early on as Lewis stayed in the amateurs until 1988 because she promised his mother he would win the Olympics before going pro. That's why Lewis didn't go pro after the 1984 Olympics. So when his mother said no to the Vitali rematch that would have been enough in itself for the rematch not to go ahead. But add to this the fact that Lewis' significant other also told him that if he did not retire from fighting, she would leave him. Considering that they have been together for some 24 years now and that they have four kids together, I'd say any sane man in his shoes would have done the same without hesitation.

Steward talked about how even years after the Klitschko fight, Lewis would have been interested in a rematch, kept talking about it, but ultimately abandoned the idea because of his mother and his wife.

Joshua would be the most skilled Heavyweight Fury has ever fought outside of Wladimir. And Joshua is a hard puncher with much better technique than someone like Wilder, and based on Fury's latest outing I wouldn't be so confident to only call it a "moderate risk".
