Hi all, just wondering what your thoughts are on the criticism Tyson Fury has been getting recently in the media for his recent comments and whether this is fair or not?

Just interested in getting some people's views on this, feel free to share your opinion on the whole controversy

    Cheers

The same media who LOVED psychopaths and criminals like Mike Tyson and David Haye now wants to hate Tyson Fury. Of course its unfair but I guess part of the game. Fury should just swallow it and collect the money for his family.

The reaction has been overblown, I'm not a fan of this hyper sensitivity that some show towards people's opinions.

Franky, I don't give a **** what he thinks of gays or women, that's his business. He's not doing anything to them.

The reason I like Tyson Fury is because he's willing to stand by his opinions, I may not necessarily be in agreement with them but I respect a man who doesn't grovel and go all apologetic because someone called him a bigot or whatever.

We live in an age of over sensitive, PC brigade professional moaners. People cant wait to condemn other people to make themselves look so fukking rightious and to make it worse the media knows what sells, know how to stir stuff up and make nothing stories into front page sensations.

Thing is next week another sports or Popstar will say something that they should really keep to themselves and Tyson Furys words will all be old news and soon forgotten and the PC moaners will jump on them instead.

It's a little 'unfair' that it's blown out of proportion. He's talking about what he believes, which he's entitled to do, just as people are entitled to take offense and repsond.

Mostly I'm surprised that no one on his team thought to have a conversation with Tyson Fury at some point and say:

"hey lad, if anyone asks you something about ANYTHING other than boxing...just you know, think about it for a second before you answer."

He's entitled to his opinion for sure, but I bet his life would be a bit easier if he'd just learn to smile for the camera and mutter some platitudes.

Fury is box office, and all of the rending of clothes and nashing of teeth over his comments are par of that.

It is a bit strange that the media will forgive a convicted ****** like the original Tyson, but pile on this Tyson for saying some old fashioned things. Seems to be a double standard of sorts. What exactly is their diference...

It’s a case of people in the UK not liking that someone has a different opinion to them, so the press have blown it out of proportion and twisted things to make him the biggest current villain of the UK, and the PC gang have jumped on board. He explained that he is just following his religious beliefs and is not ****phobic and doesn’t hate anyone but the witch hunt is out. To most Britain’s he is a ****phobic, ***ist bigot. He did himself no favours by saying the comment, as now when he says tongue in cheek stuff he gets slaughtered. Now he can’t say Jennifer Ennis looks good in a dress etc, before all this those great PC Brits would probably be calling him a “playful gentle giant”.

It’s a complete joke really, hypocrisy at its best. Its like Britain have painted him as the most evil man in the UK, I’m sure there are no other celebs that have a few skeletons in the closet.

You got one of the athletes threatening to pull out of the sports personality thing because he doesn’t want to stand next to Fury, too pure to be tainted I guess, read that he left his wife for some tart after she helped him become a great success, sure he is a great bloke. You got anchor men calling Fury a “**** head” on the BBC, very professional. Then you get some guy suspended from the BBC because he questioned their decision to keep Fury on sports personality, what does he expect for openly criticising his employer on twitter, but now he is the martyr? All attention seeking rubbish.

Its just one mans old fashioned belief but because it doesn’t fall in line they want to see Fury arrested and stripped of his achievements. Its really a civilised version of what is going on in the middle east, unless you agree with the PC brigade you are out, if they had their way can you imagine the controls put in place, boxing would be banned in 10 seconds. Already had arguments in other forums about that, because they hate boxing no one else should be allowed to enjoy it I guess.

These people think they are open minded and decent people but instead of listening to the man or trying to understand why he thinks that way they have painted him as a dum boxer that should be in prison, without knowing one thing about him, opinions based on ignorance and they call him stupid. The UK needs to look at itself in this sense because it really looks like Fury is getting bullied out of his own country for voicing his beliefs, which he has a right to.

I do think he's a bit of bigot, but I also do think the whole issue is overblown as well.

It all started with the things he said should definitely remove him from that "Sports Personality of the Year" list, because his personality is one thing that's surely in question here. But just leave it at that.
He's a good addition to the HW division, and has proven me and countless others wrong with the things he achieved.

We live in 2015 where if you have a viewpoint that differs from the liberal elite you're vilified and hated.

I've no problem with gay marriage, if they want to get married, so what? Doesn't effect me. But I also understand others have different opinions. If Fury is against gay marriage, so what? He doesn't deserve all the hate he's getting for it.

I respect Fury a hell of a lot more than I do drug-pushing criminals like Joshua... but apparently opposing gay marriage because of your religion is a worse offence than dealing drugs since the media are all over Joshua's hairy *****.

I dont think he did himself any favors voicing his beliefs like that, at the end of the day not many people in this day and age are going to agree so he has really opened himself up. I just dont like the reaction at all.

Personally I wouldn't care either way about the sports personality thing, I dont rate it at all but from the point of view of being recognised for a sporting achievement I think he deserves to be in it. What is it about, being a great personality or things you have achieved? if its the former I cant see anyone winning lol. It would be awkward him being there I guess but the BBC would have to say based on Fury's religious beliefs they have banned him.
