    That's a nonsence.

So a Lineal champ can be out the ring for years yet still claim to be the Lineal champ?

If that's the theory you agree that Mayweather could return tomorrow and would still be the Lineal WW champion of the world?

    The way I see it:

Fury is the Lineal champ because he beat the previous lineal champ. Until a new lineage is created he will remain Lineal champ. As Fury is still active and never officially retired from boxing he can still be considered Lineal champ.

There are many grey areas and opinions on the lineal championship and some believe it doesn't exist at all. As it is not a physical belt and there is no governing body...nobody is really right or wrong in their opinion of who is or isn't Lineal champ.

So Charles Martin was a viable world contender and champion in your opinion?

And how is it that IBF make concessions for other fighters (Wlad being one) and not Tyson Fury? These governing bodies like to weild the rule book when it works in their favour (financially) but when it doesnt they turn a blind eye.

Hearn paid Martin well to come to London and get knocked over and he was been spending the money on crack and hookers ever since.

I do still believe that AJ v Fury is the biggest fight in British boxing history if it gets made and I think this is just as much about Hearns (ego) legacy as it is AJ's now.

Fury against a live opponent (Haye, Bellew, Whyte etc) would be PPV in the UK.

The fact there is no belt is what makes Fury's 60/40 claim quite laughable. You cant sell a fight as the Unified champion' of the world vs the Lineal champion.'

The public don't see the Fury as a champion as he doesn't hold a belt. His simply an ex world champion and a challenger like anyone else who doesn't have a belt.

But you could sell it as 'Undisputed'. 40% is more than reasonable for Fury but he will (try) and hold out for more.

There are so many variables that could happen in the short term (including Hearn/Warren scenario) that I doubt this fight will ever go down how we are all imagining it.

Fury isnt a draw. He will be on his first fight back beacuse hes been out for so long. Will tell every man and his dog that hes a proper fighting man then put on a 12 round snoozefest and remind people watching paint dry is more entertaining.

Out the ring hes a great character but he's a boring fighter to watch

Fury won' be the Ring belt holder soon. He is just a fat journeyman now until he proves otherwise. I promise you he'll be lacklustre in his comeback and will call out for his ca$h out pension fight almost immediately in fear of missing out when he realises he was a flash in the pan.

    Agree

When Fury was calling out Joshua for his first fight back it stank of desperation and fear.

A CEO retires and a competent replacement is found to fill his shoes. The replacement CEO does a great job as profits go up over the next two years. The former CEO returns after a two year gorge fest demanding his job back with a higher salary. The current boss throws him out of the office.:nonono

Fury is clearly jealous of other heavyweights in the spotlight.
He's also depressed, he doesn't need bbboc license to fight again, he could have returned months ago.

What's stopping him is 100lbs of lard and poor mental health.
