Still better record than Fury's when it comes to title defences. He was also tested in the Klitschko fight and won it by stoppage.

AJ's resume is even more protected than it seems because beyond the title defences filled with journeymen and old people ...

    Franklin
Helenius (old, just KO'd by Wilder, week after fighting someone else)
Wallin (sparring partner, underpowered, already beaten in ams, only good win is the cruiser Gassiev that he dwarfed)
MMA fighter (also pretty old, btw)
    Dubious (got splattered)

Now people will ask, 'well what should AJ have done in this terrible era!?'
I'll show you the opponents he could have chosen with the money behind him.

    Joyce (before Zhang)
    Zhang
    Parker rematch
    Croatian
    Wilder x2
    Fury x2

These were all absolutely possible over the last handful of years. So it was a choice to avoid them. Every single one of those fighters has asked for the AJ fight. Suddenly we see there were plenty of good opponents out there for him. And nobody would hammer his resume if he'd taken those fights.
