The funny thing is if he was ranked #1 P4P he'd never shut up about it.

Would a boxer rather be Wladimir Klitschko or Floyd Mayweather?

I think most would rather be Floyd.

the problem with p4p, is that 99% of people talking about p4p would not know how to distinguish what makes one boxer better than another boxer, when boxing. things that only that 1% understand. like bad technique in throwing certain punches, proper defensive techniques for the style and opponent youre facing. proper offensive technique depending on defense youre facing. ability to correct mid fight based on current circumstances, etc. things that every trainer wants to see in all their pupils. most see one guy knocking down all the other guys, so he must be better than the guy only knocking down half his guys. its a simplified example of what i mean.

Half a goddamn hour of waiting for (whatever BS she and Fury were talking about be damned) the camera to catch MJP uncrossing her legs, for naught? The uploaders should be tarred and feathered!

How does she not get pins & needles? :dunno

    It's subjective, not nonsense.

I can't (to use the big man's example) prove who would be the best if all were the same size. I can however objectively critique Fury's inactivity and lack of defences. Does Wallin deserve a rematch? There are reasons to frown.

Now part of it - which admittedly is a bias - comes down to the art of sport. Heavyweights are not the most skillful. Never will be. Guys like Joshua and Fury do not have as many considerations when engaging. They outsize virtually all opposition.

im sure it pales in comparison to the wisdom youve been imparting. i would give examples if i could remember one that was memorable enough to have responded to.

P4P should be rated based on skills/achievments.
That's why I still have Loma as P4P, I believe he ia the most skilled in the world and is in p4p top 5 when it comes to achievments

P4P used to mean something when boxers fought on a more regular basis and you could gauge who was better. Before it meant if they were all the same size who would be the best. It was created to honor SRR's dominance in skill and impressive streak of wins. Of course if SRR fought Louis, Marciano, or Ali he would lose, but his fluidity, skill, and movement would all be considered better if they were made the same size.

From there boxers have been a lot less active so we've relied on the eye test and what have you done for me lately. Based on the eye test Bute looked like the best boxer at 168 because he looked so smooth and dominant over his competition. The rest of the 168 lb fighters fought in the super six and Kessler was expected to win. We were all salivating at the prospect of Bute vs Kessler. Well Kessler got his ass handed to him by Ward, Ward gave an ass kicking to Froch as well, and Froch dominated Bute like his little brother. So the eye test has proved largely worthless and what have you done for me lately like beat the top guys in your weight class, unify the titles, win the Ring title, and put on a long list of defenses are all that matter.

Now fast forward to 2020, rarely do the top fighters fight each other, they fight long lists of bums and no hopers, the ppv stars stack everything against their opponent from stipulations about pay, venue, weight, rehydration clauses, etc. The top guys don't fight each other until they are largely past their primes. It's too hard to tell who the best guys are anymore. P4P has become worthless. The only thing I can accurately say is that a handful of boxers have shown they are the best in their own weight classes and the only thing I can look forward to are good fights when they happen.

P4P is fiction tho.. It's a conversation piece. Reality is the HW king is the top dog in boxing. No ones beating him, they too small. Fury>Canelo.

Pound for pound is nonsensical and it gives rise to some terrible "discussion".

Although I like several divisions, there's the heavyweights and then there's the rest. I'm not really as interested in watching grown men who weigh as much as my 14 year old niece.
